A Fifteen Word Book,
By Michael (Tokyo, Japan) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Look What I Can Do (Paperback)
At the end of the excellent 400-page text/program "Teach Your Child to Read in 100 Easy Lessons," twenty books are recommended for children who now (according to the text) read at a second-grade level. This is the third book on the list of twenty. The fourth page of this book, "Look What I Can Do," has five words, "Look what I can do!" On page 7, there are five more words, "I can do it too!" The last page has the same five words as the first page, "Look what I can do!" In between, there are a lot of pictures. If you would like your child to read more than 15 words, you might think about getting a different book.

Look What I Can Do,

Two show-offs compete to come up with a better antic. This creates havoc for the animals in their paths and eventually both of them! Execellent facial expressions and a fun ending make this a book for all ages.

Great book for emergent reader!,
This review is from: Look What I Can Do (Paperback)
I was also led to this book through Teach Your Child to Read in 100 Easy Lessons. I loved that it was so easy that my new reader could easily conquer it! This gave her a confidence that she could conquer other books also.
This book's story is mainly told through the pictures, and this allows a new reader to read and comprehend quickly.

I am using this book as part of a learning to read programme on which my daughter is progressing quite steadily. This book was on the recommended reading list and I am finding it to be a valuable reading reasource, simple and easy to understand.

Too Easy for a Beginning Reader,

I bought this because it is recommended in the book Teach Your Child to Read in 100 Easy Lessons. They have a list at the end that increases in difficulty and this was the first on the list. I didn't buy it until my son was finished with the 100 lessons and I found that this book was too easy by that point. I should have bought this book when he was around lesson 40 or 50. Other than it being too easy it is great! I will definitely keep it around for my younger child to learn with.

Memory from my childhood,

This review is from: Look What I Can Do (Paperback)
I'm 30 now and my parents gave me a lot to read when I was growing up, but this one really stands out in my memory. I remember it being such an adventure. The characters get themselves into all sorts of trouble through their showing off. This book communicates a lot more than just the written words.
