Although this doesnt offer a lot of information on adjusting to being a big brother this is a great keepsake. My son loves to look at pictures of himself in this book. His new sister isnt here yet but he cant wait until he can put pictures of himself with his new sister in as well. Definitely recommend it.

Great way to make Big Brother feel Special!,

I got this book for my 4 year old son who is about to be a big brother. This book makes him feel special because he is the main character in his own book that is all about him! It does take some time to get all of the pictures in it, but it is well worth it. I wish there were more books like it!

Great tool to help prepare my son...,

With my pregnancy halfway over I am starting to get excited (yet scared) for my only child to become a big brother. At just 2 years old, his world is going to change dramatically, and at this point, I want to do my best to help with the transition and get him as prepared as I can.
A good friend recently bought me this book help with this transition. There are a lot of books out there to help introduce a young child to the prospect of becoming a big brother or sister, but none quite like this. It's not just a book, but a personal journal that you and your child create to tell your own story. I love how it starts with mom's pregnancy and continues throughout the birth of the new sibling, and your child, the big brother or sister, is the star of the book. It is easy to complete the book -- no real scrapbooking skills are needed. You simply fill in the blanks using a pen or marker, and use tape or a glue stick to adhere photos of your child and family onto the pull-out pages. Each page is laminated and is very sturdy so little hands will have a tough time ripping it. I highly recommend it! :)

I bought this book as a gift for my sister-in-law, when she was expecting her second child. She has often said how her son loves it, but also everyone who sees it remarks, "What a great idea. I wish I thought of it!" I plan to stock up on this and the girl version, "Look Who's Going to Be a Big Sister!

We have two boys age 7 and 9 and just had a baby girl. I bought this book for my 7 year old before our baby was born. I also bought him a disposable camera and he had a great time documenting my pregnancy, our family, his sister in the hospital and then many pictures once she was home with us. It was a great project for him and made him feel like he had a role in welcoming his sister to the family. The book turned out great and he is very proud of it. I'd buy this book for anyone with kids who are about to become big brothers!!

Great Keepsake, Requires a lot of Work,

I read all of the reviews on amazon before buying this book and decided to go ahead and get it, since the idea of personalizing a keepsake appealed to me. When it arrived, I realized it would be more accurate to call it a photo album, since you put at least one picture on each page (and many pages have room for more than that, like the page where family and friends visit, which has space for 10 photos). It has proven to be a good bit of work finding the pictures that fit the text, and I have found it quite frustrating that dimensions for the photos are not specified anywhere--most look small but slightly bigger than wallet size. I think ultimately I will really enjoy this book but creating it is going to require trial, error and time, the latter being hard to come by at this stage in my pregnancy. I think the text will ultimately illuminate many of the changes that will occur once my son becomes a big brother, so that is helpful.

Nice book but requires new baby pictures,

This was a very nice book, but I was surprised that a "Look Who's going to be a Big Brother" book would require pictures of the newborn baby. If he's "going to be" a big brother, then the baby is not born yet. I had to send him the book uncompleted. The number of pictures required surprised me also.

I gave this book and its "Big Sister" counterpart to my friend's children as gifts. They absolutely loved them! They couldn't wait to get started. I'd recommend the whole series!

My daughter is not going to be a "Big Brother" anytime soon, but we thoroughly enjoyed Whitcombe's two other books, we just had to have it.
