Gems From a Lost Treasure,
By
This review is from: Looking Back at You (Audio CD)
Kate Wolf's death from leukemia robbed us of one of the most vibrant voices in new acoustic folk. Her ballads of growing, loving, and living in California are melodic gems, with lyrics that read like short stories. Her best songs echo in your mind for weeks after you first digest them; a hawk circling the sunset sky will bring you to her enchanted Pacheco hills, her words and tunes echoing in your mind like a dream in the hazy morning of early awakening. This is a collection, and like all anthologies, it reflects the tastes of the editor. I found surprising omissions. But if you don't know Kate Wolf, this is a wonderful chance to meet her. If you knew her music, this is a gem of a collection.

This review is from: Looking Back At You (Audio CD)
This refreshing look into the mirror of traditional folk styles of music reminds me of all that is good and why I was drawn to this genre so many years ago. The themes are timeless, the talent of Kate Wolf is preserved impeccably and for those intrepid younger souls who seek meaning and purpose in art you will be rewarded by the music and the art contained in this CD. Take a moment to enjoy this musical feast in a fast food world.........
