I had only heard a few tracks before I bought this album, and the whole thing is fantastic. Sound Providers do a great job of providing jazzy hooks with heavy beats. They drop knowledge on every track. I'd recommend this for anybody looking for real hip hop that won't get you down while imparting big ideas.

WOW. i've been waiting for this album to come out and finally got it on the first day. Surprisingly though, they only had one copy, and it wasn't even on display. Anyways, i've already heard 'the field' 'dope transmission' 'yes yall' before, but this is still worth it because they tried to make it sound like a non-stop album that they included about 25 seconds of intro before each song. the singles on here were never before released on CDs and i finally don't have to burn them on blank CDs in order to be able to listen to a song like 'the field' in my car any more. This is better than 'the evening with the sound providers'. after all, this is when MC Profile was still w/ the group, so it feels fresh and this is easily the best album for me right now.

This work celebrates the catalogue of the Sound providers over a three-year period. After this time three became two, as the MC left to pursue a solo career. Not wishing to be unkind, but maybe that was the best thing to happen to this group. Production wise, they are innovative, with great use of jazzy piano samples and such. They are let down by the MC, who is pedestrian at best. With a half decent MC, the Sound providers are more than capable of progressing to the next Level.
