A Refreshing New Voice,

I recently had the opportunity to read Michael Rowe's new collection in galleys, and I was impressed by his fresh take on subjects of interest to gay men. Where many recent books by gay writers present ponderous, overly academic portraits of the gay community, Rowe's essays and articles manage to be both intensely personal and still universal. He has no agenda to push on his audience, which allows readers to both enjoy what he has to say and to make up their own minds about the issues being addressed. An impressive collection from a gifted journalist.
