More About the Author

A self-proclaimed Southern girl, Trice Hickman's love affair with books began when she was a small child growing up in Eastern, North Carolina. But it wasn't until she enrolled in an advanced women's literature course during her sophomore year of college at Winston-Salem State University that she thought about becoming a writer. After suffering from years of writer's block, her literary window finally opened with the release of her self-published debut novel, Unexpected Interruptions, November 2007. The book garnered praise from literary reviewers, book clubs, and readers, and was selected by Black Expressions as their December 2008, Editor's Pick for Dynamic Debut Feature. Trice's much anticipated sequel, Keeping Secrets & Telling Lies, was released June 2009, and her third novel, Playing the Hand You're Dealt, was released August 2010. Upon the success of her work, Trice signed a multi-book deal with Kensington(Dafina Books). Her fourth novel, Breaking All My Rules, was released February 2013, followed by Looking For Trouble, November 2013. Trice's 6th novel titled, When Trouble Finds You, will be released July 2014.In her spare time when she's not writing, Trice enjoys reading, cooking, entertaining, and traveling. Trice Hickman is a brilliant writer! I’ve read every book that she has written and truly enjoyed each. "Looking for Trouble" is no exception!! What a brilliant way to continue the Small's family line by introducing us again to the characters of "Unexpected Interruptions", and intertwining the generations, past and present. The suspense of what is going to happen to each character’s love life and how situations will turn out, will keep you engrossed as if it was real life. Pick up and copy and be thoroughly entertained…this is a MUST READ, for a book club or an individual reader, that you will not be able to put down and will still want more at the end.

I don't think the author pulled off the outcome expected. If I could give zero stars, I would. I was bored with this book unfortunately and could barely finish. I thought I was being a Debbie Downer until I went to my book club meeting and was met with the same response. I think the concept was great but it is hard to convey. It will not deter from the author but I was not fond of this title.

This was a fantastic read full of passion and mystery.

I'm not used to Trice writing mystery with a little paranormal, so I had to wrap my brain around that, but Trice delivered BIG TIME! Plus, I didn't know that the book floated between the past and present. So, I had to make myself a little flow chart of who `beget' whom, so that I can follow. LOL.

I've read all of Trice's books and I must say -- this is some of her best work -- well written with well-developed characters. I really liked that Alexandria is the offspring of some of the `original cast' of characters in her first novels bcz that gives us the opportunity to catch up with them.

I will say this; both Alexandria and John (Alexandria's grandfather) are very passionate people. But, I must stop there bcz I do not want to give the book away (it is such a good read), however, there is definitely some unfinished business in this book and I'm looking for Trice to `finish' it up in her next book.

I will be anxiously "looking for her next book".

Note: This book is good as a stand-alone, but would be even better if you first read "unexpected interruptions" and "keeping secrets and telling lies".

Whew! Just buy and "look" to be in for a real treat

I absolutely loved this book. In fact if I could give it more than five stars I would. The book merges the past and the present so perfectfully ,that the reader gets to feel a real connection with each of the characters. I do not want to give away any spoilers but I will tell you that I was kept totally entertained. One minute I was laughing aloud and the next my mouth was hanging open in fascination. I was on the edge of my seat wondering what was going to happen next.

If you are looking for a truly good read please partake is Ms. Hickman's latest treasure. Go on this journey with her and The Small family, I guarantee you will not want the ride to end.

Bravo Trice and I can not wait for the next one!!!!

Trice Hickman's Looking for Trouble strikes the perfect balance between a thought-provoking mystery, a mind-bending riddle, and a classic romance with a little family drama thrown in to keep things both hilarious and nail-biting. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and can't wait to see what she has in store for these beloved characters.

A savory mix of spice, humor, and the coziness of down-home love. The soft but magnificent leverage of supernatural family values makes Looking for Trouble an insatiable read.

OMG! This book was SOOO GOOD!! I couldn't put it down. I read it in one day. The way the book went between space and time was amazing. I loved the characters and the way they were developed. I am a new reader to Ms. Hickman's work but I am definitely a fan for life. You don't want to miss this book.

Trice really knows how to tell a story! I hated for this one to end. Once I started reading this book I couldn't put it down. Being originally from the South, I can relate to people with "special powers" and people who worked hard to overcome a long list of obstacles the way Isaiah did. My favorite character was Alexandria. Her gift will not cause her any problems as long as she handles it with caution. I am glad that Trice included the subject of skin tone. This is something that has ALWAYS been a major issue with black folks (just check out the skin tone of the women in the music videos our musicians make...). I hope that Trice is working on the next book but this one will be a tough act to follow!
