Editorial Reviews

From School Library Journal

Grade 6-8 --One of Paridiso High School's beauty contestants, Raven Cruz, is missing. Peggy Sue and April have already been murdered, so who's next? Readers won't know unless they read the next installment in this series. There is something that smacks of subliterature in a book with an unresolved plot; it does not seem worthy of reading. The action is farfetched and includes a scene in which two sleuthing friends visit a father incarcerated in the state penitentiary, and another in which a computer hacker breaks into a California Classified Information data bank to find previous crime records--right out of War Games . If something by Lois Duncan or Ellen Emerson White still doesn't hook reluctant readers, this could be motivational. Better, though, to let teens seek it out on their own than to dip into tight allotments to buy this one. --Phyllis Zucker Singer, Beach Channel High School, Rockaway Park, NY

5.0 out of 5 stars Book 3 of a 4-Book Mystery Series, August 12, 2007
This review is from: If Looks Could Kill (Who Killed Peggy Sue) (Paperback)
Peggy Sue was murdered, and the mystery still is not solved. It will not be solved until the 4th book.

The atmosphere of this book is fun; the murder mystery is intriguing and will keep you reading.

The book takes place in a California high school; the characters are complex and well-developed. It is so fun.

5.0 out of 5 stars Think We're Getting Closer to Solving The Murder Mystery!, June 12, 2000
By A Customer
This review is from: If Looks Could Kill (Who Killed Peggy Sue) (Paperback)
This is the 3rd book of an awesome 4-book series about a murder mystery that takes place in a high school in California. Each year the school holds a Peach Blossom contest and ball. This particular year, the theme is the 50's, so the winner is nickamed Pretty Peggy Sue. Peggy Sue is murdered, and in this book we're still trying to find the murderer and his/her motive. These books are very well-written, and have very good character development. They are a lot of fun to read. I would definitely recommend them.
