Deft interpretations, touching originals.,

Snow has a wide range and an excellent sense of nuance. She is easily one of the best interpretive singers of her generation (i.e., early '70s singer/songwriters). Only unlike some of her peers she is a master of not only pop, rock and folk styles but jazz, blues, standards, soul and gospel material.On her third album she gives beautifully nuanced, winning intepretations of "Teach Me Tonight" (an oft covered standard perfectly done here); "Don't Let Me Down" and "Shakey Ground." She gives a sexy, bluesy performance on "In My Girlish Days."Mercy On Those" is emotionally compelling, building to a smart climax. Her own compositions such as "Autobiography" and "Stand Up On The Rock" are spirited, musically adventurous numbers that showcase her potent voice and sensitive songwriting pen. After you purchase her debut or one of her two collections, this is the next logical place to go. Excellent.

This singer is great! The music in this series is mellow to high spirited.'Stand upon a rock" Mercy On Those" are a few of my old favorites.The song lyrics can inspire and uplift. She is soulful and her voice is one of a kind.

This a a classic Phoebe recording. Both beautiful and funky.IT LOOKS LIKE SNOW deserves a place in any collection. Phoebe's voice is like no other!
