About the Author

Many of the scenes Pamela describes are adaptations of actual events. When she was a child her late father, a New Hampshire Forest Service employee and avid sportsman, often took her hiking in the White Mountains to scout game. Indeed there actually is a bear's den, although its location will forever remain a secret. Her memories of their great adventures were partly the inspiration for this novel. Pamela and her husband divide their time between their log home in southern New Hampshire and their North Country cabin where they enjoy fly-fishing, kayaking, snowmobiling and hiking. This is her first novel.

More About the Author

Pamela Lord is no stranger to the North Country. Her first view of the Presidentials was from over her father's shoulder where she nestled in a makeshift backpack.
She was three months old.
Although she doesn't remember that hike, it was her introduction to a lifestyle that she continues to enjoy and has passed on to her own children and grandchildren.
As the eldest of five daughters her late father, a long time New Hampshire Forest Service employee and avid sportsman, often took her hiking in the White Mountains to scout game. Stressing her need to remain observant, he would take her to the top of a mountain and let her set the course for home. Whenever a correction was needed, it was always accompanied by a snippet of wisdom that would serve her well for future treks into the wilderness.
Memories of their great adventures were partially the inspiration for LOON COVE.
Pamela and her husband divide their time between their log home in southern New Hampshire and their North Country cabin where they enjoy fly-fishing, kayaking, snowmobiling and hiking.

What a great book. I literally sat down for 4 hours because I just couldn't put it down.
Coming from New Hampshire and personally knowing Pam made this book special to me. I felt I was back home again. It has everything in it to keep you interested: Romance, mystery, heartache and loss and survival. I have already passed it on to friends so they can enjoy it as well. Job well done, Pam. Time to get started on your next one

What a delightful book!! love the way it is written- the author has a beautiful way with words. The story line kept me engaged and wanting more. I love the way she describes nature - you feel like you are there and can almost smell the trees and water. Her insightful prose at times made me stop and re-read lines as it really made me connect with the characters. This is a heartwarming story and I look forward to more from this author! I highly recommend this!!

Will Audrey overcome her fears of loss and recognize her feelings for Ben before it's too late? or will jealousy stand in her way ? Will Ben succeed in catching the bear poachers and win his woman? Will Seamus be lost in the night with the Heilan Coo and her baby? Will the missing deaf child be found before the mountain lion finds him? Will Audrey's Dad break through his own emotional wall and be there for his daughter? Will Audrey leave Loon Cove forever? I had to read until I knew all the answers. Now, I still want more about Loon Cove!

For those readers who have never traveled to New Hampshire, LOON COVE is an opportunity to experience the beauty of this state, if only from the comfort of their armchairs. Beautifully written, the story flows nicely from one scene to the next and truly depicts life in rural New England.
