5.0 out of 5 stars Loon, October 22, 2003
This review is from: Loon (Audio CD)
Loon is hotter than... some one said he can't flow, come on. Amazon should have a rule that you have to have the album to review it. His flow is like butter,
"This verse I feel I owe you, you trying to get dough I'll show you, even if I don't know you, tell you couple things I go through, and maybe you can get some dough to...
-This Ain't Funny
He Mase on steriods, flow like Slick Rick/ Snoop. Kid is ill. Some of the songs are wack though-
Down For You, Thing That You Do, and Waiting
The other songs are straight fire. The illest beat is Can't Talk to Her until Diddy comes on. He takes it straight back to the Golden Age of rap. The illest rhymes are on Don't Want To Die. Loon has a lot of talent and hotter than 50 (not Eminem) in my opinion. His single could be a lot better. Diddy is making him sound weak with I Need A Girl and all that commercial stuff. Though the beats are commercial this is where the game is headed, don't like it than get some corny Del the Funky Homosapian album, or over dramatic Jedi Mind Trick. Plus he's from the streets, Del's a crack head.

3.0 out of 5 stars Most tracks cool some LOONEY!, November 20, 2003

This review is from: Loon (Audio CD)
Ok I think it is clear that loon is an excellent guest appearance type of artist, but Listening to this album, his flow is almost exactly the same on all of the tracks. Don't get me wrong, I like his flow, but he should be able to change it up a little bit to make the album seem more diverse. There are notable tracks on the album where Loon has your head nodding such as "How you want that" featuring Colorful yet at times odd Kelis who is now linked up with the Neptunes Startrak label. How you want that has that Bad Boy, Daddy's house studios signature sound and is a nice lead single for Loons Debut, but it seems to have gotten lost among the radio airwaves. Down for Me featuring Mario Winans is the second single off the album is a stand out track that describes a dude who is looking for the right lady, a subject that is now played out among thug love rappers, but Loon somehow took the subject and gave it hard edges that appeal to both the thugs and the ghetto girls of the world. The other songs on Loons debut are probably just a cut above average and you will find yourself skipping past some of them. When all is said and done loon has put together a solid debut, but doesn't Utilize all of his talent.

5.0 out of 5 stars Bad Boy Forever, November 10, 2003
By A Customer
This review is from: Loon (Audio CD)
I listen to this album everyday and it keeps growing on me, i really feel the concept and understand his emotions. I like the way Loon approachs this album and his flow always shines each time i hear, never repetitive.

I gotta say that the album really picks up in the middle starting with 'Hey Woo' as he gets a real club banger going, Missy really hypes it and Loon stays chilled and delivers, then he comes in with the oh so chilling 'Can't Talk to her' and this has real painful emotions about his girl and people trying to ruin his life. This pain suddenly turns into a real high tempo top class love/club hit 'Things You Do' which is one of my favourite tracks of the year with Loon spitting fire and Aaron Hall hyping up the chorus. Loon then continues and brings in a street concept to it as he tells 3 storys in 'Don't Wanna Die' and the storys he tells are Hot and they just flow so nicely together, i hope to see more of this. 'Waiting' follows this and i feel this track so much, infact its another classic as i can understand the concept of falling in love at 17, and she actually treats him right and its different to all these other gals. Loon follows this up with his most gangsta hit on the album 'You Don't Know' and he certainly delivers and stands out strong, his flow is on point and he really spits aggresion, something his sophomore album will include more of. 'Friday Night' pumps in and a fast paced beat hacks in, and this is real Hype as Diddy proclaims ' i like this right here!!!' and Loon spits some hot lyrics just to get the clubs going again, and finally Loon ends this album on a high note that hes continued for the last 8 tracks, with C-Tizee providing background vocals and the hook in 'I'll be there' with a slow beat that pours out emotions and Loon ends these comparisons with Ma$e.

These are the feelings i get when i listen to the album, and i always listen to these 8 tracks that are all fire and pour out real emotions i can relate to...
I love this album and aside from these songs the others are all strong....

For instance, 'How You Want That' and 'Do What You Like' gets the clubs going and show Loon means buisness with strong beats to dance to and Loon rips them, 'Relax Your Mind' i've listened to so many times on The Soundtrack that i havent done as much as the otehrs but its a strong song. 'Down For Me' is the love song of the year and has the tightest beat and this with 'Between Us' gets the girls going crazy for it, They have real lyrics that come straight from the heart. 'This Ain't Funny' has a real feel to it and is humorous and i like the concept, something completly different to any other song i've heard ever. 'Story' is a real grimey street song where he spits for over 3 minutes straight and keeps it consistent, the more i listen to it, the more i feel it, finally 'Like a Movie' with a complex beat that really does wonders for Loons spitting, and he gets his point across, i liek his lyrucs in this...

All in all, its got a strong start as well, thats what i like 100% consitency through-out...

i just thought i'd share that sum through, cause Loon desevres more recognition for this album.... Its hot.... Album of the year.
