5.0 out of 5 stars Loon
Loon is hotter than... some one said he can't flow, come on. Amazon should have a rule that you have to have the album to review it. His flow is like butter,

-This Ain't Funny
He Mase on steriods, flow like Slick Rick/ Snoop. Kid is ill. Some of the songs are wack though-
Down For You, Thing That You Do, and Waiting
The other songs are straight fire. The illest beat is Can't Talk to Her until Diddy comes on. He takes it straight back to the Golden Age of rap. The illest rhymes are on Don't Want To Die. Loon has a lot of talent and hotter than 50 (not Eminem) in my opinion. His single could be a lot better. Diddy is making him sound weak with I Need A Girl and all that commercial stuff. Though the beats are commercial this is where the game is headed, don't like it than get some corny Del the Funky Homosapian album, or over dramatic Jedi Mind Trick. Plus he's from the streets, Del's a crack head.

Ok I think it is clear that loon is an excellent guest appearance type of artist, but Listening to this album, his flow is almost exactly the same on all of the tracks. Don't get me wrong, I like his flow, but he should be able to change it up a little bit to make the album seem more diverse. There are notable tracks on the album where Loon has your head nodding such as "How you want that" featuring Colorful yet at times odd Kelis who is now linked up with the Neptunes Startrak label. How you want that has that Bad Boy, Daddy's house studios signature sound and is a nice lead single for Loons Debut, but it seems to have gotten lost among the radio airwaves. Down for Me featuring Mario Winans is the second single off the album is a stand out track that describes a dude who is looking for the right lady, a subject that is now played out among thug love rappers, but Loon somehow took the subject and gave it hard edges that appeal to both the thugs and the ghetto girls of the world. The other songs on Loons debut are probably just a cut above average and you will find yourself skipping past some of them. When all is said and done loon has put together a solid debut, but doesn't Utilize all of his talent.

5.0 out of 5 stars Bad Boy Forever, November 10, 2003
By A Customer
This review is from: Loon (Audio CD)
I listen to this album everyday and it keeps growing on me, i really feel the concept and understand his emotions. I like the way Loon approachs this album and his flow always shines each time i hear, never repetitive.

I gotta say that the album really picks up in the middle starting with 'Hey Woo' as he gets a real club banger going, Missy really hypes it and Loon stays chilled and delivers, then he comes in with the oh so chilling 'Can't Talk to her' and this has real painful emotions about his girl and people trying to ruin his life. This pain suddenly turns into a real high tempo top class love/club hit 'Things You Do' which is one of my favourite tracks of the year with Loon spitting fire and Aaron Hall hyping up the chorus. Loon then continues and brings in a street concept to it as he tells 3 storys in 'Don't Wanna Die' and the storys he tells are Hot and they just flow so nicely together, i hope to see more of this. 'Waiting' follows this and i feel this track so much, infact its another classic as i can understand the concept of falling in love at 17, and she actually treats him right and its different to all these other gals. Loon follows this up with his most gangsta hit on the album 'You Don't Know' and he certainly delivers and stands out strong, his flow is on point and he really spits aggresion, something his sophomore album will include more of. 'Friday Night' pumps in and a fast paced beat hacks in, and this is real Hype as Diddy proclaims ' i like this right here!!!' and Loon spits some hot lyrics just to get the clubs going again, and finally Loon ends this album on a high note that hes continued for the last 8 tracks, with C-Tizee providing background vocals and the hook in 'I'll be there' with a slow beat that pours out emotions and Loon ends these comparisons with Ma$e.

These are the feelings i get when i listen to the album, and i always listen to these 8 tracks that are all fire and pour out real emotions i can relate to...
I love this album and aside from these songs the others are all strong....

For instance, 'How You Want That' and 'Do What You Like' gets the clubs going and show Loon means buisness with strong beats to dance to and Loon rips them, 'Relax Your Mind' i've listened to so many times on The Soundtrack that i havent done as much as the otehrs but its a strong song. 'Down For Me' is the love song of the year and has the tightest beat and this with 'Between Us' gets the girls going crazy for it, They have real lyrics that come straight from the heart. 'This Ain't Funny' has a real feel to it and is humorous and i like the concept, something completly different to any other song i've heard ever. 'Story' is a real grimey street song where he spits for over 3 minutes straight and keeps it consistent, the more i listen to it, the more i feel it, finally 'Like a Movie' with a complex beat that really does wonders for Loons spitting, and he gets his point across, i liek his lyrucs in this...

All in all, its got a strong start as well, thats what i like 100% consitency through-out...

i just thought i'd share that sum through, cause Loon desevres more recognition for this album.... Its hot.... Album of the year.

4.0 out of 5 stars Its your turn now KID!!!!!!!!!, October 21, 2003

This review is from: Loon (Audio CD)
Loon has hit the exclusively hit the hiphop world in the spring of 2002 with the smash hit I need a girl, along with partner P.Diddy and since then, I knew there was somethin special about the kid. 13 mounths later, the rapper who has collborated on more than 10 tracks in the last year has dropped his debute album which is not at all a disappointment. In fact it is extremely impressive. apart from violent gun crime and gangster rappin, the artist has filled the album with some of the finest beats, tunes, and rhymes we've heard this year. just to mention: how you want dat, down for me, and the beautifully produced track like a movie. the talent in this album is obvious and shining and I can see this rapper being not the 2nd mase but being LOON!! it is really his turn now.........

1.0 out of 5 stars How I Want It? I want you to retire!!!, November 18, 2003
This review is from: Loon (Audio CD)
Loon is easily the worst rapper out right now...yes worse than Juelz Santana. This man spits hot garbage, with basic lyrics, an EXTREMELY average voice, no emotion whatsoever, and the worse mic presence in the history of Hip Hop. He's just not very talented at rapping. He tries to rap about women far too much and he's not doing it good. All of it is just BLAH. He mumbles so much it's hard to understand the things he says. His flow is straight up LAZY. Almost like he's slept through rapping woke up and forgot he was rapping so he just starts mumbling. Put some pep in your step PLEASE!!! The problem with Loon is that he has no identity...nothing to set him apart from the millions of other rappers trying to make it. He has no flavor whatsoever. If he were to jump on a collabo track the only way you'd know it was him would be that he is the only one on the track that sounded half sleep. I have no clue what Diddy saw in him; but a word of advice to Diddy and the people pondering buying this album...KEEP LOOKING. Zero Stars.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good album good club beats!!, May 2, 2004
This review is from: Loon (Audio CD)
This cd has really good beats and lyrics that seem to flow with little effort. Loons flow is perfect and he really keeps the energy high during the whole cd. This is a good cd you can pop in during a party and vibe to!! Some good songs are "How you want that" and "Do what you like feat Trina" This song has got a bad ass beat and smoooooth flow. Also "Down for me feat. Mario Winans." This song is flawless with perfect flow and an even better beat. There are lots of other good songs a great buy pick it up!!!!!!

2.0 out of 5 stars Loon- Loon, February 2, 2004
This review is from: Loon (Audio CD)
I usually don't bother writing reviews about albums I have little attachment to/dislike, but I went out of my way to checkout the artist some people have called Bad Boy's latest star, after all I have enjoyed music from Black Rob, Shyne and G.Dep and was hoping Loon would deliver. My summary on this one is short: To me this is one of the worst albums I came across in 2003 . Loon's lyrics, messed flow and delivery are boring, repetitive, annoying, unmemorable and at times wack. This is just my opinion, I can see some people liking his album (the ladies in particular), as we as people have many different tastes. I would say this album is more for people who enjoy light Rap, R & B mixes. Though even for those people, I would recommend listening to this one first before thinking of buying it. Maybe I am just the exception but normally if I want to hear R & B, I will listen to some R Kelly, and if I want to hear some real Harlem Rap I will listen to Big L. Loon's attempt at infusing both genres to me is at best lackluster.

5.0 out of 5 stars Loons a ladies man, November 8, 2003
By A Customer
This review is from: Loon (Audio CD)
Loon is a ladies man and he wants you to know it. Forget the violence, Loon would rather party and take a woman home for the night. There's nothing wrong with that in my book. The first two singles "How you want that" and "Down for me" are typical Bad Boy club bangers. His storytelling prowess is in full effect on the track "Don't wanna die". A high speed club beat is "Hey Woo" which has Missy on the chorus and Loon shows he can spit at any tempo. I can see "Like a movie" being another single with Claudette Ortiz (from City High) on the chorus. The production on the album is hot, but can sound repetitive at times. However, unlike most rap albums, I can listen all the way through and be satisfied. If you're looking for a car banger from 1 to 19, cop this disc!
