A great card game that allows players the chance to shift the course of history to their own ends. By changing key events of the 18th & 19th centuries, the player disrupt the time stream and then repair it to match their own hidden agendas. They are also trying to collect certain artifacts for fun and profit. The game has a fairly simple mechanic of card flipping and replacement that makes for very engaging play. The multiple paths to victory means that no one can pull ahead and be guaranteed a win. This games teaches a good bit about the early years of the U.S. and how we got to the place we are now. I have played it with both adults and middle school ages to great a reception. I give it my whole hearted endorsement!

This game is a worthy successor to Chrononauts by the same manufacturer. It is actually a prequel, covering an earlier time period (17 and 1800s mostly) and focused more heavily on the US. There are rules included to combine this game with Chrononauts for one really long time stream.

The game is a lot of fun and very educational, including some things you might not think of right away, like a chance to talk about boolean algebra when you have to NOT an OR. (Don't worry, the Looney's make it very simple and obvious). My scout group and their leaders all enjoyed the game.
