4.0 out of 5 stars Lune tunes Back in Action - seems well done
I have only played the first few parts of this game so far with my son (age 3.5) but to me (an experienced gamer) this seems to be very well done. The gameplay is fluid with good control over the characters. The voicework also seems excellent so far. All in all my 3 year old is loving this game. I don't know how much interest older kids would have in this but for the...

2.0 out of 5 stars Fun, super short and too difficult for kids to play.
Well...I purchased this game on a Saturday night and had it beat by Sunday afternoon. You might say to yourself, "Duh! This is a game for kids to play and experienced adults will be able to finish it quickly." I would totally agree with you in theory but after playing the game I can tell you that's not the case.

I guess this would be considered a...

Well...I purchased this game on a Saturday night and had it beat by Sunday afternoon. You might say to yourself, "Duh! This is a game for kids to play and experienced adults will be able to finish it quickly." I would totally agree with you in theory but after playing the game I can tell you that's not the case.

I guess this would be considered a platformer but there are only five worlds in the game and they aren't very large. You have to do the usual collecting of items, do a lot of jumping and, of course, fight the usual bad guys and bosses. I played this game with a 9-year-old who has played dozens of games during his childhood. There were several parts of "Looney Tunes" which were too difficult for him and I would urge you not to buy this game for a little kid (like 5-years-old or so) unless you want to play most of the game for them. Even in the first level, Elmer Fudd keeps grabbing you and you have to be able to push the X button very quickly in order to escape. That will be frustrating for a child if they are stuck on the first level and it gets more difficult as the game progresses.

On the other hand, any teen or adult who has played more than a few games will breeze right through this title. There was a timed mission that took me a few tries and one level forces you to make a series of challenging jumps in order to pass it. Overall, however, the game is rather simple and the worlds are far too small. Since this is ostensibly a "kids" title, they don't give your character a variety of weapons, you don't get to drive around a bunch of different vehicles and they weren't even kind enough to include any multiplayer action.

I don't want to be totally negative in this review because I enjoyed it for the short time I played it. The graphics are decent and the characters (you can alternate between Bugs Bunny and Daffy Duck) are pretty simple to control. You can probably guess what the best part of all is though...the Looney Tunes humor!! I thought the "Looney Tunes: Back In Action" film was sporadically hilarious and there are plenty of laughs in this video game as well. If you love the Looney Tunes and play video games for only 30 minutes to an hour a day than I would actually highly recommend this title to you. If you're looking for a game that has a lot of variety in the gameplay and lasts for dozens of hours then you're best passing this one up.

1.0 out of 5 stars Lame Lame Lame, January 8, 2005

This review is from: Looney Tunes: Back in Action (Video Game)
We bought this game for our 5-year old son and it's first of all way too difficult for him. But that was our fault. However, after basically playing the whole game for him, we finally get to the end only to find out that there were apparently hidden challenges, or "munkeys" in this case that we failed to catch, to be exact, 11 of them!! 11?? How could we have missed that many challenges??? Why did the game let us get all the way to the end just to send us back to do it all over again?? This is very poor design and for a children's game, the makers should be tarred and feathered, not to mention ashamed, for setting it up that way. A big thumbs down for this incredibly lame and unsatisfying game. All our efforts were for naught.

Back when I didn't have a Gamecube, I went to my friend Tom's house and played this game. I guess it's not a bad game after all..oh well.

P.S. If you hate the game, movie, or both, I think you better take a look at this review's title, I say this game is a
Get-it-or-suck.
