4.0 out of 5 stars I love this!
This cotton candy maker is the perfect thing for home use! We love it.. I would recomend it to any one that is going to buy one for home use.. It is not for really heavy usage such as you would with a fair machine. You can buy the flavored sugar anywere that rents party supplies! Regular sugar will work just fine also! The slower you wind the cotton candy the puffier...

I did only give it 4 stars becasue after about the 6th scoop you will probally should take a rubber spatula and scoop out the harden sugar, which is normal for these machines..

4.0 out of 5 stars Very Cool appliance, May 29, 2000

I always wanted a cotton candy machine, and so when I saw this one I bought it. It's very simple to use. The first time I used it though, the cotton candy puff came out very small. It takes practice to get the puff big, and on the cone correctly. Instead of swirling it around the bowl, its better if you twist the cone as its coming out. I gave it 4 stars because it only makes one lump at a time, and it takes a while for the sugar to get heated up about five minutes, than you have to let it cool off, but other than that its great. I don't have kids, I use it for myself, and I still find it cool to watch the sugar come out like cotton.

My husband bought this for me as an early gift for our fifth wedding anniversary. Neither of us could wait to take it out of the box and make the cotton candy! Still need to find a place to buy the flavored sugar (Mom suggested cookie decorating sugar) but the plain sugar works just as well. Loads of fun to watch the sugar floss come spinning out of the machine.

5.0 out of 5 stars Best toy for the kid in everyone!!, November 26, 2001

We had a wonderful time using this... it was very easy to operate and rinsed easily with water! We thought it would make a huge mess and not make a lot of cotton candy, but we were all wrong.... we couldn't keep up with the cotton candy! We did find that regular white sugar worked better than the colored sugar that we purchased. Everyone from Nana and Pops to our little nieces loved it, would recommend it to everyone who has a LARGE sweet tooth!!

5.0 out of 5 stars works great, better than expected!, March 2, 2002
This review is from: Looney Tunes CCILTA Cotton Candy Maker (Kitchen)
It makes really good cotton candy and it's easy to use and clean. We found a big difference in the amount of candy made by using different sugars. The best sugar was "Gold Medal Flossugar"; it was at an events/party rental store. Other floss sugars made a lot less candy.

There was very little cotton candy mess during the making, unless you slow down or stop moving the cone (keep turning and moving the cone!).

One way to sometimes judge how good the product works is by the picture on the box...it makes cones twice as big as shown on the box (using the better floss sugar).

We're very happy with the maker and recommend it!

4.0 out of 5 stars Wonderful item, January 17, 2002

This was actually a replacement for a Christmas present that simply didn't work.

I am glad to say, this one does. It does take 5 minutes to warm up and makes about half of the pictured cone per cycle-another 5 mins, but you can make as much as you want if you keep refilling it.

The clean-up is a breeze!!!!

The only thing I dislike about this item is that it is open-so you can get the candy out. When it is spinning, you can get hit with molten sugar and it is hot, but extremely small. If placed on the counter, it is right at kids eye level-so take appropriate precautions.

I bought the cotton candy maker because I am thinking plain sugar with no fat is a better sweet than candy bars, cookies, etc. So after reading all the comments I bought the Looney Toons. I love it. Having never made it before I expected to have to learn how to wind it properly. I made a total of 6 batches (cones) last night, I did mess up on 2 of them but had expected to the first time around. I believe I'll do better next time. I also expected the cleanup to be difficult (dried melted sugar) BUT it was VERY easy. I found sugar at a local rental place that rents machinery to wedding supplies.

We just received our cotton candy maker a couple of weeks ago, and we love it. It is perfect for movie nights or just a quick snack before bedtime for the kids--one 'serving' of cotton candy uses so little sugar that it's probably better than most other snacks before bedtime. It is definitely NOT a children's toy, but my kids enjoy watching as I make it. You can also buy the flavored sugar from most party supply stores.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Great Machine, May 28, 2001
By A Customer
This review is from: Looney Tunes CCILTA Cotton Candy Maker (Kitchen)
This cotton candy maker is one of the best machines you can buy. It is fun watching the strings of sugar come out and twisting it around the stick. There is nothing I would change, except the little looney tunes picture on the side. And for all you people who are frustrated about not being able to find cotton candy sugar you just use plain kitchen sugar. The only difference is that it doesn't have all of the chemicals.
