4.0 out of 5 stars Make Merrie Melodies, January 6, 2009
= Fun:4.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: Looney Tunes: Cartoon Conductor (Video Game)
Bugs Bunny, Daffy Duck, Tweety, Sylvester, and all your fave Looney Tunes pals are back in a magnificent musical game for the DS system. In "Cartoon Conductor", you use your stylus as a maestro's baton and conduct classical cartoon tunes to familiar classics like "What's Opera, Doc?", "The Rabbit of Seville", "Hyde and Go Tweet", and "Fast and Furry-ous".

Unlike some other games like this, you use the baton stylus to not only tap out the notes that appear on the screen, but you also must drag the stylus at the right time in order to achieve perfect harmony in each song. If you do hit the notes at the right time, you'll get a better score represented by carrots. As you go along achieving good scores and such, you'll unlock more songs as well as Looney Tunes bios and info on each classical song.

This is a pretty decent and rather fun game. Of course, if you're not fond of classical music, or perhaps, Bugs and friends, then I'll make an exception. But if you're in to sheer fun of the Looney Tunes, look for "Duck Amuck" also for Nintendo DS, where you use the stylus to agitate poor little Daffy Duck. That's cool, too.

3.0 out of 5 stars Beware EBA fans., June 14, 2008

= Fun:3.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: Looney Tunes: Cartoon Conductor (Video Game)
I bought this on as it is similar to Elite beat Agents, with the understanding that this would be classical music. HOWEVER upon hearing the music, I was disappointed that it is MIDI (computer generated). I crank EBA with headphones so I may hear the (mostly) great music. I don't think I can do this with this game as the sound quality is so low. And Classical music is hard to listen to if it isn't of good quality. Sadly this game has no target audience, as the baby boomers will be disappointed by the lame presentation and the younger set won't like the music or animation. Another disappointment is the cut scenes are rendered in crude 3d, when standard animation is MUCH more suitable for the material. The action part of the game is pretty good though as you slide the wand instead of tapping. There is still tapping but the sliding is meant to make it feel like you are conducting the music. If you miss a note there is a noticeable shift in the pitch of the music causing sour notes. Annoying at first, but it is a good audio indicator of how you are doing and a good incentive to try harder. Over all not bad but feels like it could have been so much more. If you like this game even a little them Elite Beat Agents would be a sure bet.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Fun, Entertaining Game, June 5, 2009
= Fun:5.0 out of 5 stars
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Looney Tunes: Cartoon Conductor (Video Game)
I Bought this game because I loved the Looney Tunes when I was a child. You watch a cartoon on the top screen, and touch the notes on the bottom screen when prompted. The cartoon quality is what I expected from a DS, not great but good. You have three difficulty levels, as well as three files so other people can use the game. My kids were having fun with this game.
If you are a serious gamer this will bore you. But if you want to play a game that doesn`t require a walkthrough then enjoy the cartoon quality of this game and have fun.
