Product Description

Amazon.com Review

Set the Tazmanian Devil loose in the kitchen with this conspicuous two-piece hot air popper. Families will delight in watching fluffy, fresh-popped corn froth out of Taz's immense, voracious maw. Just make sure that the serving bowl placed underneath him is a large one. Because of his wide mouth, Taz can be a spaz when he spits out the corn; unpopped kernels in particular can become little flying missiles expectorated across the kitchen. The head of this frenzied, whirling cartoon dervish lifts off for loading and cleanup, and it sits on a hard plastic base with zippy white and lemon yellow stripes. Because hot air popping requires no fats or oils, each kernel emerges light and grease-free. The popper includes a recipe booklet with exotic popcorn flavoring ideas such as curry, lemon, hot sauce, and cinnamon. --Carol Gnojewski

This review is from: Looney Tunes PC8LT Taz Popcorn Popper (Kitchen)
this unit has no on/off switch, one has to manually plug in the electrical outlet and unplug it after use, recommand use less than half cup of kernal, unit takes about 90 seconds to heat up, you get about 5 percentag of wasted/unpop corn per batch.

1.0 out of 5 stars MESSY, September 23, 2002

Though that this would be so cute, but it shoots popcorn all over the place, the opening is to large, and unless you have a very large shallow bowl your going to get alot of popcorn on your counter & Floor.

5.0 out of 5 stars Kids love it, so use it to make a healthy snack!, August 3, 2005
This review is from: Looney Tunes PC8LT Taz Popcorn Popper (Kitchen)
First off, this isn't perfect. But what do you expect from a Taz/Looney Tunes themed kitchen appliance? If you read some of the other reviews, I guess they expect the popcorn to always land correctly in every bowl used with no unpopped kernals. Sorry but NO popcorn maker does those things 100%, so they will have to keep searching for that magical appliance.

Now for reasonable people, you will LOVE this popcorn maker. I mean, how can you not smile when you see it? My favorite thing about it is that it can make even "dry" popcorn a treat for kids who *LOVE* to watch the popcorn pop out of TAZ's mouth.

But you are wondering--how does it perform? Exactly like you would expect. You might need to play around with bowls or bowl placement to control where the popcorn lands, but that is how all open air poppers work.

How does it taste? GREAT, again exactly what you would expect. Does it have a problem with "old maids" or unpopped popcorn? None that I saw, the unpopped amount was just about what I would have gotten from my normal popcorn popper. The confusion is that cheap, older popcorn won't pop as much, so with any popcorn popper you want fresh good quality corn.

Other features? Not much, but then you don't miss much. On/Off switch, no--but most air popper don't have them. "Melt Tray" for butter, no--but I have NEVER gotten one of those to melt my butter anyway.

Summery--A very fun, very useful popcorn popper without any real flaws, despite a few other reviews. You will be very happy with this model.
