Don't bother,
By D (USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Looney Tunes - Stranger Than Fiction (DVD)
This is just a collection of the awful webtoons featuring the Looney Tunes characters. The animation is bad (the same clip-art poses you've seen before...) and the characters aren't acting like themselves. Why Warner Brothers is releasing this I do not know. Save your money for the Looney Tunes Golden Collection - 4 discs of uncut classic Looney Tunes and Merrie Melodies, with many extra features.

Not great, but not as bad as some would say.,

Not as good as "Looney Tunes: Reality Check," and not even remotely as good as "Looney Tunes: The Golden Collection," this set of 21 new Looney Tunes shorts are, for the most part, send-ups of science fiction and horror films and television shows. The animation is pretty bad -- it's clear that you're watching low-budget webtoons rather than the great stuff Warner Bros is capable of putting out, but the writing is pretty sharp and the characters are dead-on. I honestly don't know where some of the bile some reviewers have for this and "Reality Check" comes from. It's not great by any stretch of the imagination, but it's okay. It would have been easier to swallow, however, if the WB had condensed this and "Reality Check" into one two-hour DVD instead of two one-hours DVDs.

True, this collection is not quite up to the standards of the classic clips. However, it's really not THAT bad. Even ok Looney Tunes are still far superior to most of today's fare, in my opinion.
Here's the listing of the nineteen clips, for those of you who are interested: Sufferin' Sasquatch Cropsy Curvy The Bermuda Short Who Wants to Be a Martian-Aire? Gone in 30 Minutes Window Pains The Taming of the Screwball Loch Ness Mess Twick or Tweety El Chupacabra! Daffy's Meet Market Hogs & Kisses Satellite Sam Island of Dr. Moron Cube Wars Tech Suppork Planet of the Taz Enough with the Planet of the Taz

Garbage, plain and simple. Simply product with no concern for quality or substance. Buy the LOONEY TUNES GOLDEN COLLECTION instead. I only got a copy of STRANGER THAN FICTION because of the store coupon which enabled me to get it free. My five year old liked it. I'm not so sure she'll like it when she's six. I thought Disney watered down their product, but this is just embarrassing.

Terrible,

Don't waste your money on these badly-voiced, badly-animated, and very badly-written cartoons. It's hard to believe that Warner is actually releasing this...If you want to see FUNNY cartoons AND get a good bargain, get the Looney Tunes Golden Collection. This DVD has less than an hour of material! And the material on it is really, really bad.

If you, like me, love the old ("classic" ?) looney tunes,DO NOT BUY this one. I bought an earlier one (Golden Classics or some such title) and I (and my wife and children) loved (most) of the earlier DVD. We did not even finish this DVD, and we will not. None liked it. It seems that there was one (1) episode we regarded as almost ok, but that's it. If you like whereever this stuff came from fine, but be

Hilarious,
This review is from: Looney Tunes - Stranger Than Fiction (DVD)
My two little boys love watching these shorts with Mom and Dad, and we all find the vignettes hilarious. Daffy Duck repeatedly sputtering, "mysterious phenomena of the unexplained," the Planet of the Apes takeoff with its "Idiot Eyes" bit, and several other parts of this DVD provide some good, mindless laughs. Our family has a really good time watching it. Not sure what some of the other reviewers dislike so passionately, but I give this DVD all stars.

Underappreciated.,

This review is from: Looney Tunes - Stranger Than Fiction (DVD)
Both "Stranger than Fiction" and "Reality Check!" are being bashed to no end, however, it should be stated that these new web-only toons were the base of the slew of newly produced theatrical shorts, and part of the by-product of the new theatrical "Looney Tunes: Back in Action" (in theaters November 14!).The tunes ARE well written, short, and to the point. The pairings in some of these toons; Yosemite Sam and Sylvester, with a cameo from Marvin the Martian, Sylvester Jr., Sylvester Sr., etc. are astounding! The amount of entertainment put on to this disc should not be underestimated, and perhaps those giving negative reviews should actually take a look at these toons before putting them down because they're "stupid web toons." High on entertainment value. Very smart. All your favorite toons.

My daughter loves this collection of fairly recent truly oddball Looney Tunes, I believe, were created for online consumption originally. Not sure, but, fun, all the same, and fun to see my kid watching the same characters I grew up with.
