Short and sweet, September 6, 2004
This review is from: Loops of Fury (Audio CD)
Loops Of Fury is a EP...why does it always say [CD-Single] at every site...oh well. This was another one of the EP's that I thought stood out alongside the AmericanEP. The song 'Loops Of Fury' is a dynamite track all by itself and it gets even better at the very end when it sets you up with '(The Best Part Of) Breaking Up' which is a rip-it-up track with a wild house beat in the background along with some "scratches". 'Get Up On It Like This' is the so-called EXTENDED VERSION of the song from their album 'Dig Your Own Hole'...I wish this version of the track was on that album instead of the one on it now. I wasn't too thrilled by the Dave Clarke Remix of 'Chemical Beats' to be honest with you guys...I still prefer the original version from 'Exit Planet Dust'. That's my review, Thanks!

First Chemicals CD I bought, August 31, 2001
This review is from: Loops of Fury (Audio CD)
I bought this when the only true "electronic" music I owned was by The Orb. I had heard of the Chemical Brothers, but didn't know enough about them to want a whole CD. This E.P. was perfect. And as soon as I heard it, I knew I had to have more.
Unlike a lot of Chemical Brothers singles (and other artists as well) this was not a collection of remixes of the same song, but a true E.P. with 4 different songs. So I figured that I would be getting a good sample of what they were about. True, "Chemical Beats" was a remix of the original "Exit Planet Dust" version, but it wasn't repeated on the same CD and I didn't even own the original at the time. The title track, "Loops of Fury", is simply huge. It makes you want to turn it way up, and once you've done that, it makes you wish you were hearing it cranked all the way up inside a club. It just sounds big.
Along with those epic early Orb albums, and a Wax Trax Records sampler that contained Underworld's "Dirty Epic", this started my love of (modern) dance music. Highly recommended to those wanting to try something a little different from the current version of "Alternative Rock" but who have no need for Top 40 radio.

Whooooo, great stuff., December 23, 1999
This review is from: Loops of Fury (Audio CD)
Loops of Fury is an amazing song. I just love the deep booming bass and the astounding echoey sounds. The Chemicals have an ear for beats that remain unparalleled in the music world. Breaking Up is also a really cool song, with more weird samples and a strange experimentation with stereo effects at the end.
I don't care much for the other two songs, but the first two, which are available only on this release (except for various other compilations) make this EP very much worth buying.
