I bought these to use with 3/64" SS cable for making lanyards for my sailboat using the swerving tool made for that purpose. They are high quality and hold up to the stainless wire rope quite well. I wound up using them on all kinds of stuff not related to my boat. From jacket zipper pulls to hooking ball lock pins to my old school cot. They look good on my jackets, will buff to a brilliant shine and ... make for a great conversation piece. Do yourself a tabor - get the swedge tool to clamp them on with - looks better and is more secure. I bought a hundred of these ferrules and ... well, not sure I have enough. Beats the heck out of the aluminum version.
