In this album Jeff beck explores his heavy metal side and Loose Cannon is the best of the collection. He is really thrashing on his ax in this tune and, while it isn't my favorite mode, Beck shows he can shred along with the best of them. There is a lot of hard driving bass undergirding the tune insuring it never sounds hollow.There is solid, driving, syncopated drumming throughout (of the brutalist school). Most of the songs on this album are heavy with a touch of progressive except Suspension which is a nice respite and a bit new age sounding (really great in its own way).
