I have always been "picky" about the arrangements of Christian hymns and worship songs, because I am a piano arranger myself. This book has THREE things going for it!
1. these are classy, beautifully done arrangements and not disjointed
2. Mark Hayes has just a "hint" of jazz chording which adds to the appeal of these arrangements
3. this particular book is actually three books in one, so you get a terrific bargain!
I use this book with some of my students, as well as for church offertories. This book is at least upper-intermediate to advanced level. I love how he weaves in some classic hymns with newer worship choruses from the last two decades. You will not be disappointed if you purchase this book.

Mark Hayes is a master of creating arrangements that reflect the message of the song rather than simply showing off the talent of the performer. I have used his music arrangements constantly during the last 20 years, and I buy all his new arrangements the minute they come out. Not only do I use these transcriptions for my own piano solo work, but I also utilize them as topnotch accompaniments for both vocal and instrumental soloists during the worship service.

Don't pass this up!

I love almost every arrangement in this book! This is three volumes in one, with 58 arrangements, some of which are medleys of two hymns. And I love the spiral binding that makes page-turning easy. I would rate these as intermediate in difficulty. Maybe it's just me, but I'd appreciate a bit more fingering help. I end up marking up every piece with fingerings. If you play a digital piano with several voices, try piano with choir, strings, or vibes for some of them.

I've played two pieces in this book on Sunday worship, and every time the congregation really enjoyed the music. I love the music as well. This book is not an easy book, there are always some spots I need to work on. However, after practicing several time, the music is wonderful!! If you are a church pianist, I would recommend you to buy this book.

I have thoroughly enjoyed this book for the past ~6 years. I used it as a pianist for a struggling church while I was finishing high school. Much of the music is easily attainable for a moderately skilled high school student. There are, however, a few pieces to challenge a skilled professional! With careful attention to the melody, you can present a wonderful setting which both younger and older congregation members will enjoy. Listeners can almost always pick out the hymn base without being informed, which I attribute to superb arranging. There are varied styles with influence of jazz and gospel, and plenty of music to choose for preludes and postludes. Six years and a masters degree in voice later, I still regularly use this book for worship services, and I don't expect to stop! I swear by Mark Hayes arrangements and I am rarely disappointed.

This is one book which is a must have!

The price was ok, service fast, I received it in excellent condition. It's a great songbook for intermediate to advanced players - I would not choose it for less-accomplished pianists. Has great song arrangements for instrumental offerings/interludes in church.

This is a book full of wonderful songs to play during church services. Understand this is one book that contains many songs from three volumes. Some of the songs are fairly easy to work up for the experienced pianist, and some require a little extra practice. Very much worth the price I paid. I would recommend this book.

I love this book, and anyone that hears me play loves it too. I have bought Mark Hayes books for presents and for myself for years now. This particular book gives you the best of Mark Hayes all in one.
