A delightful romp!,

Alexander Wescott, Viscount Borin is being watched -- watched and followed. He hopes this unprecedented occurrence will win him a place in the Marquis of Hastings's cadre of secret agents in the War Office, but Hastings turns him down, claiming Alex is a wastrel with a heart for adventure but no stomach for hard work. Although disappointed -- after all, he wants to change his ways! -- Alex knows he needs a challenge. If the younger girl is not married by her twentieth birthday -- only six weeks from now! -- she will lose the fortune bequeathed to her by her father. Since Constance has already rejected several eligible suitors, Katherine is leaving nothing to chance. Having exhaustively researched many of the unmarried men in the ton, she and her allies, her young brother and their butler, have chosen Lord Borin as the most likely candidate to win Constance's heart. But things take an unexpected turn when the viscount shows up on their doorstep, after following her brother, who had been following him. Grateful to the lovely young woman who answers his knock for giving him a plausible reason to call, and for inviting him to return on the morrow, Alex does not mind that she almost closes the door in his face. But despite Miss Collin's repeated and rather obvious attempts to direct his attention toward her beautiful stepsister, it is Katherine who intrigues him. Although he cannot imagine Constance, Katherine, or her uncle as a spy for the French, Alex perseveres -- and he does not mind at all that his quest throws him into Katherine's company. Will he catch the spy? Or will he find something even better? LORD BORIN'S SECRET LOVE is a delightful romp through Regency London. It is a charming tale of two people who find love when they least expect it, and who perfectly complement each other. Alex and Katherine are marvelous characters, both strong-willed, independent, and determined to achieve the goals they have set themselves. Katherine is completely unaware of her attractiveness, but very cognizant of her flaws. Alex, on the other hand, knows his attractions, but has no staying power -- until he realizes he wants to win Katherine's hand and heart. With sparkling dialogue, humorous antics, and realistic interactions between the characters, this well-written, entertaining tale is sure to please. Regency fans will adore LORD BORIN'S SECRET LOVE. I highly recommend this book to all romance readers who like heart-warming, unique love stories with delightfully original characters.

If you are tired of putting books down before you finish them or trudging through yet another depressing bit of fluff, pick up this Regina Scott novel! You'll remember why reading can be ohh so much fun! In LORD BORIN'S SECRET LOVE, Ms. Scott has created a whole cast of characters that dance off the pages. Her plot line is engaging, bringing in elements of mystery and suspense. A great read for Regency fans and those who just want to slip into a good book.

I devoured this book within a few hours. I can now add this book as one of my favorites from Regina Scott. (my other favorites being My True Love Gave to Me, The Marquis' Kiss and Utterly Devoted) Lord Alexander Borin is being watched and followed by several people. One of them is Miss Katherine Collins who believes he would be a good catch for her step sister, Miss Contance Templeman, who will soon lose her inheritance to Lord Templeman if she doesn't find a husband soon. Lord Borin falls for the managing Katherine but she tries her best to push him towards Constance. The reader understands exactly why Katherine is a managing female and how she is burdened by holding the family together. Well rounded hero and heroine and interesting secondary characters as well. Witty dialogue and a fun read. There is a little of mystery as well, clean Regency romance.
