This book was one of those you just can't put down. First there is the injured woman, Felicia, who has stirred the heart of Guy Chillings for the first time since his wife's death. Then there is the mystery of who Felicia is, where did she come from, where was she going, is she married, who is she mourning and what great loss caused this mourning? There is an instant attraction between the two that even inviting Guy's twin sister, Bell, to his house didn't help to keep them apart. There are events that take place that almost killed one of the characters, too. Guy's fiance shows up at his country home after rumors of a mysterious woman living at his house are circulating in London. Even though their engagement and ultimate marriage is to be one of convenience, she can't tolerate the gossip. Finally Felicia remembers her past, and it isn't a good one. More problem arise due to it, and Guy just can't let her go to try to fix things. He doesn't even realize that he has committed himself to her even dragging his past and a fiance along for the ride.
