Product Description

Come To Me

Gideon, the greatest among the archangels of the Arcan gods, fell from grace eons ago when he lusted after a mortal woman, knowing well that it was wrong--and that he would live forever with his sin. In his flight from Paradise to the Dark Isle, the vengeful gods exacted an unusual punishment: the slightest touch upon his wings, even from the wind that carries him aloft, arouses him. When a beautiful maiden, survivor of a shipwreck, comes to his lonely kingdom, it is all he can do to restrain himself--Rhiannon, a vision of sensual perfection, awakens true passion in his soul. Enfolding her in his huge, silver-white wings is the only way he can protect her. Heedless of the risk, Gideon is compelled to make her fully his--and the lovers succumb to an erotic enchantment like no other. . .

"A wonderfully sensual fantasy. One of the sexiest books I've ever read!" --Kristi Ahlers, The Best Reviews, on Lord Of The Deep

WARNING! THIS IS A REALLY HOT BOOK (Sexually Explicit)

3.0 out of 5 stars Too much of everything...., September 18, 2008
I don't really know if I liked the book or not. I felt the same way with the first book but I bought and read this one thinking that maybe it will change a little bit. I liked the story, I felt some compassion for Gideon but I felt a little annoyed with Rhiannon just for the fact that she is very hard headed and stubborn, like telling a kid not to eat candy but they do anyways. The word "starred" got me annoyed also because it has been used in the book so many times that I felt like I was reading the same page over and over again ("it starred her/his eyes; it starred her/his vision") I am sure that there is another word for "starred".

A little too much of hard ons, sex, orgasms. I felt that it kind of just inserted in between the story just to give it some heat. Like there was a time that Rhiannon was led astray in the astral world by the nymphs after being molested or touched and Gideon save her. There was sex there somewhere instead of just concentrating in looking for a way to be together without the watchers. I understand that he is the Lord of the Dark and that he was cursed by the gods to just be in contant arousal but just flying up in the air and taking his organ out and climaxed is kind of a head scratcher. There is a lot more that I can say about the book and it took me a while to finish it coz I dreaded picking it back up but again the story is OK, after all the running and saving of the characters the ending is kind of like cut short.

Anyway, if your library carries it, just borrow it and decide if you still have to buy for yourself and keep it in your shelf. THE STORY IS OK!

5.0 out of 5 stars deep erotic romantic fantasy, August 3, 2008
Gideon the fallen Guardian of the Principalities of Arcus thought he knew suffering when the slightest touch of his wings turns him into an animal in heat, but he will soon learn how wrong his belief is. He believes he deserves his punishment of eternal exile to the Dark Isle for angels are forbidden to lust after mortals, but he will soon learn how unfair his punishment is.

He has survived for eons but now comes a crisis that rips his soul. The most beautiful female he has ever seen, Rhiannon washes up on his beach surviving the Pegasus shipwreck. He knows he must not tamper with her innocence, but his desire for her is way beyond the wind caressing his wings. He thinks of her and turns hot and bothered. Making matters worse, Rhiannon reciprocates heat for heat. As they fall in love, Gideon's biggest fear is the Gods will punish him by punishing her.

LORD OF THE DARK is a deep erotic romantic fantasy with a different overall spin than Dawn Thompson's previous tales (see THE RAVENCLIFF BRIDE, THE WATERLORD, THE FALCON'S BRIDE, AND BLOOD MOON); this story line is much more fantasy with the romance serving as a critical but support subplot. Fans of the late great Ms. Thompson will relish this superb thriller as the lead couple struggles with outside interference, his eternal sentence, and their love (in that order) with no hope for the future.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good Storytelling, January 10, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This book is the best of Thompson's Elementals series. I have read all three and feel that she had a certain affinity for the Lord and his Lady. This is definitely a book that I'd like to read again.

Gideon is shrouded in mystery and yet Thompson is able to make him accessible to the reader. He is a character condemned and yet compelled to ensure that that all of nature and humanity is safe from harm. He is the archetypical hero not unlike Hercules.

The story flows and has enough twists and turns to keep the reader turning the pages, while at the same time, remaining believable.
