3.0 out of 5 stars Misleading Description
Sword itself is ok, it's really, really big. Bigger than I anticipated, but that's not a flaw. The wooden plaque it came with is actually quite nice.

The sword itself isn't that great looking, but the looks itself aren't what drove me to give this 3 stars. The description claims this was crafted in Toledo, Spain. Unfortunately, the blade has a giant "MADE...

I have been Lord of the Rings fan for sometime and I've always wanted to own this sword ever since I saw it on the big screen. Now after waiting many years I have finally been able to purchase it and add it to my sword collection. I would like to first say that this product is finely crafted. The attention to detail makes it feel and look like the legendary blade in the film. The detail from the elven ruins to the golden markings on the pummel are just beautiful. The blade's length is by far something to behold. The weight is something that you have to get use to. Since the handle was designed like a long sword or broad sword, the length of blade however is like great sword. Because of this the functionality of this sword isn't great.

I don't know how anyone could wield such weapon in battle for long, unless they had sturdy and strong arms. However since this piece was only really meant to be displayed on a wall and used for brief demonstrations it doesn't disappoint. It is truly a wondrous weapon, that begs your attention and makes you think about the many battles it was wielded in throughout the Lord of the Rings Trilogy. In conclusion I recommend this sword highly, it craftsmanship is superb and it will make great addition to any sword collector or better yet a great addition to any Lord of the Rings fan's collection.

This sword looks and feels awesome. It's heavy and strong and probably not for kids. I really like it though and hope to mount it on my wall soon. For anyone who likes Lord of the Rings and swords, this is an awesome gift.

Unfortunately, the blade has a giant "MADE IN TAIWAN" engraved near the handle. Why would you engrave that anywhere on a sword like this?

I don't know what's worse, the fact that it was made in Taiwan (when clearly stated otherwise), or the fact that it's actually engraved on the blade.

If you order this expect long shipping, I understand this has to be ground shipped, but it arrived over a week later than expected.

This sword is just BIG. The sad part is that it's just a replica D: but for the price is just good enough.

For display purpose is excellent, a very good replica from what you can see in the movies.

If you are a LOTR fan you have to get this sword :D

5.0 out of 5 stars AMAZING!, December 25, 2010
This review is from: The Lord of the Rings: Anduril, sword of King Elessar
This sword is amazing and very beautiful. It replicates the movie EXACTLY. It is much lighter and well weighted than you would expect a blade of its size to be. It seems to be very durable, and i found out how to dismantle it safely for repairs if needed. defenitely invest in this piece of movie art, you will not be let down.

I bought this sword for my son who is a fan of Lord of the Rings as well as antique weaponry. He is thrilled with it as am I. The quality is outstanding and the detailing beautiful. Heavy stainless steel with lovely etched elvish writing and leather wrapped handle. This is a very nice sword!

Just got the sword today and have to say that I am extremely pleased! Bought it as a farewell gift for a LOTR and sword fanatic friend and have to say he will be happy! Just order in advance. My order was an international delivery and it arrived close to a month and a half after ordering it. Otherwise, extremely pleased with the sword and would and am suggesting it to others!

3.0 out of 5 stars some flaws, January 10, 2012
This review is from: The Lord of the Rings: Anduril, sword of King Elessar
I ordered this sword and it arrived in about 5 weeks so that was a bit of a long wait but the sword came well packaged. It is huge. This is techinically a hand and a half sword so I didnt expect to weild it one handedly but I found the ballance to be rather poor for the sword. It was very heavy in the hilt and if you plan on wearing it around at your hip you better have a good belt and sling for this. If not expect the hilt to tip down and get whacked with the back of the sword. Beautiful engraving on the front for the runes and same for the back, though the back does have an engraving of where it was made and stating it is a lord of the rings sword. If you buy this sword and do want to take it with you to a renfest or other event make your own scabbard. This scabbard that is sold seperatly for this sword took just as long to arrive and did not fit the sword. When I got the scabbard it was beautiful and well crafted but it was wood wrapped in leather and the sword was too wide for the scabbard. I couldnt get it to fit on the sword and getting it off the sword was just as much of a pain. You are better off taking the money you might spend on the scabbard and going to a leather shop and buying a long strip of black leather and making your own.

Oh the wall display is good and sturdy, I was afraid that in hanging it the display would ripp out of the wall with the weight of the sword but its hads stayed very nicely and shows no signs of falling any time soon.
