This Elrond is much better than the first Elrond. He is standing up straight (unlike the other one). He looks just like Hugo Weaving, complete with eyebrows! He doesn't do any action, but he looks great. This figure is an A+++++++

The Elf-lord of Rivendell, Elrond stood as the standard-bearer beside the great Elven king Gil-Galad, and witnessed the great challenge between Elendil and Sauron. He saw Isildur take the broken sword of kings, and cut the One Ring from the hand of Sauron. He urged Isildur to destroy the Ring, but Isildur rejected the advice. Elrond retired from battle after the Alliance, and became a great lord of wisdom. His lands (protected by Vilya, one of the three Elven Rings of Power) became a shelter for the Elves, and other travelers in Middle-Earth great and small.

Elrond later called a council together to discuss how to destroy the One Ring which the hobbit Frodo bore into Rivendell, and outfitted and blessed the Nine Walkers of the Fellowship. His daughter Arwen became the wife of Aragorn, and the Queen of Gondor. The two were bitterly parted when Elrond finally took his leave of Middle-Earth forever, sailing to the Undying Lands.

This is by far one of the finest that ToyBiz has released in its Lord of the Rings action figure series. Granted, since this figure does not come armed, you have to set armored figures apart in comparison, but this still ranks very high.

He is ornately clothed in his robes, three layers' worth., very intricately and accurately designed. All the detail and intaglios are visibly printed on his robes. His hair, capped by his silver crown-like circlet, is braided in the manner of Elves, just like in the movie. His face is one of the best and most accurate too. It bears the narrow features of the elf-lord, with all of the stern and solemn expression. He stands very well on his own, thanks to the robes that are spread about him. The robes aren't as big as the Coronation Pack robes (which some found cumbersome), but just the right size.

His legs (you have to part his robes to get at them) have articulation points, which are kind of pointless because you can't have him do much with those, thanks to the robes. His arms have swivel articulation at the shoulder, and his hands bend at the elbows and swivel at the wrist. His robes drape over his hands, and hang down from his arms, so it looks a little unnatural to raise the hands up.

I really cannot find anything to complain about this figure. He's an essential part of any Lord of the Rings collection. Even if you were lucky enough to find a Prologue Elrond in Armor, viewers only saw him in that gear for about one minute total in the first movie, whereas he spends most of the trilogy in these same robes.

I highly recommend you buy him before it's gone.
