This review is from: Lord of the Rings Fellowship of the Ring Galadriel Lady of Light Action Figure 1 (Toy)
Ah yes, the lady of light...Galdriel.Probably one of the most hardest LOTR Toys to find. This female action figure is NOT a boys' toy.In fact, since she has no action moves, no weapons and no armor on, this paticular LOTR figure is more of a doll than the other figures from toy biz.But if your a guy who just collects, I guess it's cool to add to anyone's LOTR collection. Galadriel comes with her removable hood which is very easy to put on and she also inludes her little urn which is also easy to slip onto her slender fingers but is also easy to slip off even on it's own so be careful.I actually bought the original red Fellowship of the ring packaged Galadriel. This is the new trilogy packaged Galadriel which is the same as the other they're just packaged differently. It is now impossible to find her in her original packaging so be sure to grab up the new trilogy packed doll of her grace...Galadriel is completly detailed and very beautiful. Please note that she is not wearing her crown this is obviously from the scene where she isn't wearing it as seen when asking Frodo to look into the mirror.Fortunetly I couldn't find anything wrong with this doll except one thing, toy biz forgot to add her ring Nenya.I know it wouldn't have been impossible to do, as they made sure the Aragorn action figures are wearing their rings and Galadriel seemed to wear her's throughout the whole trilogy.Oh well,it's just one thing they forgot.Yes it is disapointing but overall, Galadriel is wonderful beyond dought so be sure to buy one!

This review is from: Lord of the Rings Fellowship of the Ring Galadriel Lady of Light Action Figure 1 (Toy)
This is such a great action figure. I got my Galadriel two days ago, and I am still amazed at the details they put into this. Every strand of hair is indivdually and realisticlly detailed. Elvish patterns are "woven" into her belt, and small flower details decorate her dress. Her dress has folds at the end and falls like real fabric. The fingers are awesome because they are long and look like Cate Blanchett's (the pretty lady who played Galadriel in the movies). She is barefooted and actually has toes (unlike Barbie!) Even the lines in her palms and veins in her neck and wrist are shown! Her face looks exactly like Cate Blanchett. The only difference is that this toy has got some serious curves! Both hands can hold the small silver pitcher that comes with her. Her robes are all plastic, except the removable cloak. I really didn't like the cloak that much because it looks really cheap and it stays on her by putting elastic on her arms, and the elastic sticks out. Also, when you put the hood over her head, it sticks up funny and makes her head look really weird. She has movable legs and knee joints, which suprised and delighted me. Her costume also has the silver brooch Cate wears in the movies. The only problem I found in it was that Cate's brooch has a white stone in the middle-I guess it's a pearl-and the painted-on "stone" on the action figure is brown. Some more imperfections were: Two dots of red and brown near the bottom of her dress, a paint bubble one her cheek that looks like a popped zit, and her two front seperate bunches of hair are slightly lighter than the rest. These, of course, are individual blemishes, but oh well. Besides the different-coloured brooch, two other unauthentic changes were that her ears are not pointy and her dress has two side splits that go up to none-of-your-business. But the splits are there so you can move her legs easily. Even though she has a few imperfections, the figure is definately worth the money. She can pose just like all the scenes in the movie. If you hold out her hand, it looks EXACTLY like it does in Peter Jackson's film when she is tempted by the One Ring. You can reenact the part where Frodo (Elijah Wood) offers her the Ring by holding her arms out and scream in an Ursula-like voice "In place of a Dark Lord you shall have a QUEEN!...." Her sleeves can defy gravity when you do this. Too bad she can't change holograghic multicolours. ;)And the picture looks nothing like the real thing. The action figure is WAY better when you get her. Her robes are whiter and her face looks more realistic. I am VERY happy with this product. A great buy. (...)

Galadriel: Lady of Light,

This review is from: Lord of the Rings Fellowship of the Ring Galadriel Lady of Light Action Figure 1 (Toy)
One of the oldest and wisest of the Eldar that remain in Middle-Earth, Galadriel uses the good power of her Elven ring Nenya to create and protect a haven for the Elves, set apart from the worries and troubles of the world. She and her people gave aid to the Ringbearer and his companions when they came through, knowing full well that the fate of the world depended upon the fulfillment of his quest. This figure is just a little simplistic, but still really fitting. If you merely want a nice figure of the Elven lady of light, then you really should do your best to locate a 12-inch figure, which has cloth raiment. The robes of this figure are plastic. Her hair is light yellow, slightly off from the color of the hair in the movie. She comes with nothing more than her cloak (which I don't think is included in this trilogy edition figure) and her pitcher. Since they do not include the mirror that accompanies the pitcher, the pitcher is kinda worthless. I guess they just needed an accessory to stick in there. Her hands are a little unusual too...the fingers are splayed and outstretched on both hands, looking much like Saruman's when he uses the Palantir. It looks a little strange. Despite those few small issues with the figure, it really does belong in every Lord of the Rings action figure collection.
