Completely and utterly worthless, June 25, 2007
This review is from: Lord of the Rings Online: Shadows of Angmar - World Companion: Prima Official Game Guide (Prima Official Game Guides) (v. 2) (Paperback)
This second volume from Prima starts out worthless and just gets worse.
The initial equipment listing is non-sensical and poorly sorted. Rather than sorting by SPECIFIC item type (for example, chest armor), they sort by alpha..which means you pretty much have to know exactly what you're looking for to find it in the book. And guess what: If you know the name, you probably already have the stats on the screen in front of you. It's completely worthless in planning out an upgrade path to current equipment OR in finding what better items drop where.
Then, we move on to the MOB listings...which contain cursory info but no real exact locations (for that hard to find spawn). In general, the info provided isnt' very helpful.
And finally, the quests. I realize, with an MMORPG, there's lots of ground to cover. But simply listing the quests, with little to no actual "spoiler" or "helper" information...no locations of quest items/mobs or detailed step by step....is non-sensical.
Vol 1 of the guide (Dubbed "The offical Game Guide, Vol 1") is much more useful, as it at leasts describes classes, crafting (and related quests) and provides very good maps.
Vol 2, "The World Companion", is completely worthless though. Prima should be ashamed of themselves. Hopefully, this review will save some people from making the mistake I did and buying this item. Stay away!

Almost useless, June 24, 2007
This review is from: Lord of the Rings Online: Shadows of Angmar - World Companion: Prima Official Game Guide (Prima Official Game Guides) (v. 2) (Paperback)
The book is filled with senseless tables. Why the hell should I want to know armour values of all leather shirts in game? I can always see the parameters of any particular shirt, and that's enough. If I have a shirt with Armour 16, I really don't want to know that a shirt with Armour 12 îr 18 åõists. And these tables fill near a half of the book!
Further ones are not better. Mindless tabs with levels of all monsters - why should i know that? And the main part of the book - quests - is ridiculous. Only the brief descriptions - no locations or something.
The SINGLE real usability of this book is searching for quest chains. Really poor for a full-size 400-pages book. A waste of time and money.

A Waste Of Money Buying This Worthless Book, June 30, 2007
This review is from: Lord of the Rings Online: Shadows of Angmar - World Companion: Prima Official Game Guide (Prima Official Game Guides) (v. 2) (Paperback)
I purchased this guide because it advertised information on quests. In the game, the information on doing the quests, is sorely lacking. I was hoping for additional information other than what is provided in the game. Guess what, this guide just repeats the information the game gives you for each quest, with nothing additional. Worthless to the player seeking anything additional on quests.
