Best LOTR figures ever!!!,
= Durability:5.0 out of 5 stars = Fun:5.0 out of 5 stars = Educational:4.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King - Coronation Gift Pack (Toy)
Here's a quick description of the figures...
Eomer - repack, but excellent sculpt. Exquisite Rohan detail. (If you cut the back of his skirt in half, he can ride Arod.) Aragorn - repack, but excellent sculpt. Exquisite New-Numenor/Gondor armor detail. But he's missing his Ring of Barahir. (If you cut the back of his skirt in half, he can ride Brego.) Faramir - new figure, excellent sculpt. Comes with the same sword and scabbard that was with him in the Gondorian Armor action figure. His legs look like they came from Boromir, but that's not necessarily a bad thing. Arwen - a repaint of Galadriel's body. Exquisite detail on her crown, slippers on her feet. The dress's sculpt is a bit twisted and risks looking too short for her. Her face looks extremely droopy; it's not as good a sculpt as that of Arwen in the grey chase outfit. Eowyn - the best figure of the pack, surprisingly. Exquisite detail in the dress, excellent sculpt. (Strong possibility for customization: paint her dress white, and you've got the White Lady of Rohan standing on top of Meduseld.) Toybiz needs to make more gift packs like these. (Suggestions: Council of Elrond, Farewell at Rivendell [with a new Arwen in the purple outfit and other elves], Transformation of Theoden [with Eowyn in white], Farewell at Lothlorien/Grey Havens [with new Galadriel], the Elves' three rings scene, etc.)

This review is from: Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King - Coronation Gift Pack (Toy)
I really love this set. All the figures are beautiful, and look a lot like their movie counterparts. I'll write a little review on each:
Eomer:He is nice. I already bought this Eomer separetely (I wish I didn't) so I have a double. He's a nice figure, has a beautiful cloak, nice sword, very good likeness, and cool armor. He's pretty poseable, and can be put into nice setups.Overall a nice figure! grade:B+ Faramir: This figure is very nice! Very good likeness, very nice armor, awesome sword, very cool cloak that connects with holes in the back, just overall a very nice figure! You can only get him in this set, so grab this set or forget about him! He'll be a rare piece. grade:A- King Aragorn: Awesome...amazing likeness. Looks so much like Aragorn. His armour is fantastic, his sword is amazingly huge and beautiful. His crown is very detailed, and his cape snaps in the back. Overall an awesome figure! Grade: A Now onto my 2 favorite figures in the set. Arwen and Eowyn. Arwen:This figure is great. I don't know why so many people hate it, it's beautiful. So much detail in her face, hair, dress, and crown. My Arwen does stand on her own, and does not look "pregnant". She has an elegant stance that looks like she is looking out over her kingdom. Very detailed...just...amazing. I love it!This figure is released as a single figure too, and is a pretty rare peice. Grade:A+ Eowyn: AWESOME! So detailed. Her dress is beautiful,as is her crown, face, cloak, and all of her body. Her dress looks so realistic flowing in the wind. It has a yellow/gold color that almost sparkles. She is very poseable, and looks great in any pose. She is a must for a collection! Grade:A+++++ Overall this set is very good. I definitly reccomend you buying it. All these figures are great additions to any LOTR collection! OVERALL:A+ Thanks for reading my review!

This review is from: Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King - Coronation Gift Pack (Toy)
Upon the defeat of the forces of Mordor, Aragorn proved himself worthy of the kingship of Gondor, and ascended to the rightful throne of his forefathers. As the king of Gondor, he was also finally worthy to wed the Elven maiden Arwen. His friends and those who labored with against the forces of evil were present, including Eowyn, the lady of Rohan, Faramir, the captain of Gondor's forces, son of Denethor the steward, and Prince of Ithilien, and Eomer, the king of Rohan upon the heroic death of his uncle the king Theoden.
I received this set for my graduation (ha ha), and now present my review. Aragorn: You've already seen this fellow as a single. I was duped like a lot of others into buying the single edition of King Aragorn. I hope you didn't, but if you did, don't let it stop you, there's other unique editions that make the coronation pack worth it. Aragorn comes decked out in his kingly armor, with the sign of the White Tree emblazoned on the front, and seabird wings (a symbol of the house of Elendil) emblazoned on several other places on his garments. He wears the crown of Gondor, and for the first time, the face actually looks really, really good. (Meaning the first really good face among the other Aragorn action figures) The crown is not removable. Completing the costume is his long, royal cloak, which attaches to his back via a different method than usual - the cloak has two peg-like things at the top that are driven into two holes in his back. A little unusual, but it works very well to hold the cloak on. The only complaint I would have regarding it is the fact that it is actually LONGER than Aragorn's total height, meaning that while it aids very much in keeping the new king on his feet, it also makes the king bend forward at a decidedly UNkingly lean! He carries the royal sword Anduril at his side. Eomer: Previously released as a single as well, Eomer comes with his coronation outfit, which includes his normal battle armor, but overtop was worn a regal cloak. His face is calm and noble, which is somewhat of a welcome change over the mouth wide open pose from the Two Towers edition. His sword hangs at his side. The cloak is actually unique from the other Lord of the Rings figure cloaks -- it wraps around his shoulders, it does not clasp. Excellent facial likeness and sculpt, excellent armor. Pretty good articulation -- the pauldrons (shoulder guards) make entire arm swiveling a little difficult. Relatively easy to stand on his own, with or without cloak. Arwen: Um, probably my biggest complaint about this set. I know they had to include her, but it just seems like they can't get her right for an action figure. Her face looks accurate, the costume is pretty good...but she's taller than Aragorn (just try to set them up looking like they're kissing, it must embarrass my Aragorn figure), her whole head is thin, her dress splits all the way up to the hip (eek!), and she looks like she's wearing a pair of nice, comfortable HOUSE SHOES. The paint job for her crown looks a little sloppy, and the way she swivels gives her this freaky hip problem. She is (will be) released as a single too. (I wrote this review before reading the others on this page, so I'm surprised to see identical expressions of dislike for split skirts that show naked legs, whacko hips, and weird slippers -- great minds think alike) Faramir: Is totally awesome, man, and unique to this set. He's got some of his armor (including sword) on, but he's also got this enormous regal navy blue cloak and tunic, with silver trim. Awesome face and sculpting. Not exactly a good play-with figure, more like for display, but that's what I have `em for. An excellent match for the Lady Eowyn. (The two married in Lord of the Rings, but the theatrical edition only gave that fact a subtle nod) Eowyn: Finally, a really good version of the White Lady of Rohan! Actually, she's got a cream/gold/yellow dress on, which is very similar to her Meduseld outfit. She has her nice crown and jewelry on, with a gorgeous, elegant cloak spread out behind her. You certainly don't have to worry about this figure standing on her own -- the dress balances her for you. She (the figure) is beautiful. As with the other sets, this comes with a cardboard background/display set, the courtyard at the highest citadel of Minas Tirith. Kind of a culminating set for the Lord of the Rings action figure collectors out there, and I'd say well worth it. I suggest you use your Gandalf the White and buy a Coronation Gimli (sold separately) to go with them. Assuming you buy it, of course...which I recommend.
