3.0 out of 5 stars I don't like it.
I bought this (as usual) from a store, but I haven't even taken him out of the box yet. I'm rather unimpressed with this figure. The sword (yes, it glows blue) doesn't come out of his hand, and it doesn't look very much like Sting, mostly because his hand and the handle are all melded together.

And the REMOVABLE cloak is just an option they put in so that they could...

I don't have orcs yet but it's also cool to plan fights with Gollum and other enemy toys that are not also Lord of the rings enemy toys. he has lots of durability values beacuse his Sting Sword is made of and his Sting-Sword is made of hard rubber and Elven Cloak is rubbermade. The Frodo I have is a little broken because its arm can't go up high anymore. This cool Frodo has its Sting-Sword stuck to it's hand and its even cool like that!

this Frodo is well-made, but the green cloak it comes with is so heavy, it weighs the figure down and makes it unable to stand up when it wears the cloak. the sword is unremovable from his hand but if you press a button on its back, the sword-arm raises and the blade lights up blue. it is also unusually taller than the other hobbit figures made, about a half-inch taller than the hobbit figures. it has good resemblance to Elijah Wood, who plays Frodo in The Two Towers. it's a good figure, it just could a little better.

I have this for collectors purposes, but if you were to give it to a child, take away all the small detachable parts before giving it to them. It's a nice piece of memorabilia for any Lord of the Rings fan or collector. Mine doesn't look exactally like Elijah Wood, but it's close enough for me to not care. I think kids would like it as most like action figures in some form or another. There's nothing educational about it, other than maybe reading the book to your child and letting them see how their toy is related to a classic. It's a cute toy so I find it fun and as far as durablity goes, every toy will break one day. Nice gift for the Lord of the Rings collector, Elijah Wood fan or child with a love for action figures.

This is a really cool Frodo. He is strangely taller than all the other hobbits but he is the best. Be weary though, the pictue shows a much smaller sword, while Frodo's is bigger in real life. Plus, unless you twist his arm in funny ways, his sword only lights up when held as high as it goes. Overall though a cool toy, and it's cool to have him fight Gollum and orcs.

This toy is a great edition to your LOTR collection, it looks exactly like Elija Wood! Only, if you plan to display him with the cape on, he wont stand, no matter HOW hard you try! he absolutely doesn't stand with the cape. and stragely he is about a half inch taller than any of the other Hobbits, but when they are together, you can barely notice. and the cool thing about him is the way his sword lights up, the blue is so pretty and if you light it up in a pitch black room, it pratically lights up the whole room! and it is so much fun to play with. so i hope that this review was helpful to you ;)

5.0 out of 5 stars "I shall call you Sting,"-Bilbo Baggins: The Hobbit, January 2, 2004

This review is from: Lord of the Rings Two Towers Action Figure Frodo with LightUp Sting Sword (Toy)
What an excellent toy! Frodo looks very much like he did in Two Towers and his elven robe has the leaf button which I think is just great attention to detail. Anyway, Frodo includes his elvish sword(knife to an elf size) Sting which was given to him by Bilbo in Rivendell. The sword glows blue when you push a button and the arm raises to get the sword to glow. He's very cool to use in battle if you have Sam with him but is great solo too. My only downsize is that the sword is molded to his hand which lowers the playability (such as if an orc knocks the sword out of his hand). However, this still deserves the five stars. Now, here are the stats:
Fun: 5 stars but the sword is molded to hand.
Education: 3 stars because a child can have a great imagination with this toy yet like I said, he would be holding the sword the whole time and can't get knocked out of his hand by an Orc or Uruk-hai.
Durability: 4 stars. The gears for the arm can weaken.
Grade: A-
Thanks for reading!

This review is from: Lord of the Rings Two Towers Action Figure Frodo with LightUp Sting Sword (Toy)
This is obviously the best Frodo action figure there is, as the only "okay" one before was the original FOTR frodo, with a week backround changing scene piece. While the light up sting may be abit big, it is a cool feature. However, the sword is only lit when the arm is moved up by the button. However after twisting it in a few ways, yo can have him stand with his arm down and the light on. His cape is a tad bit too heay but if you bend his knees he will stand in a cool cool pose. If you cant figure that out, use the cape to help balance him. Overall with a great sculpt this is a great figure.

I really like this figure. It looks very much like Elijah Wood.
The details are incredible, and it's a lot of fun to play with. Frodo comes with a detachable elven cloak and vest. He is holding sting which rises and lights up when you push the button on his back. The only thing that I don't like is that sting is not detachable, but that is a small price to pay because the blue light is worth it. I think that Toy Biz has done a great job with
all of the toys from the movie.

And the REMOVABLE cloak is just an option they put in so that they could boast that this figure has something that can be removed or put back on.

I really feel I could do better in the way of a Frodo figure, the only way I'm keeping this is if there's not another Frodo to be found.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Great Frodo Figure, May 29, 2003
= Durability:4.0 out of 5 stars  = Fun:5.0 out of 5 stars  = Educational:3.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: Lord of the Rings Two Towers Action Figure Frodo with LightUp Sting Sword (Toy)
Out of all my hobbits, (TT Merry and Pippin and the Frodo and Sam that came with the boat), this one is my favorite. Aside from the fact that his eyes could be a *little* bigger, he definitely looks like Elijah Wood, and light-up Sting is a nice touch. The fact that Sting can't be removed from Frodo's hand doesn't bother me in the least anymore, since I realized that I never remove the swords from any of my figures' hands anyway--if anything, it's frustrating when they fall out or refuse to let me position them correctly. My advice to anyone buying this Frodo would be to take him out of the box before judging him. His position in the packaging is odd-looking, but once his feet are fixed and his cloak attached, he looks great! Also, he *will* stand if his feet are positioned very carefully--try turning them out a bit. In the end, it will be evident that this is one of the best Frodos out there.
