Product Description

The darkness of Sauron attracted many terrible and evil things to the black lands of Mordor. In addition to the innumerable hordes of Orcs and fallen Men are other creatures of darkness. Among the strongest of these are the many breeds of Trolls that dwell in the cavernous mountain hollows around the dark empire. Huge and hulking, these beasts are well suited to the heavy work Sauron's lieutenants put them too. Several such creatures are permanently employed to open the doors of the towering Black Gate. This poseable, incredibly detailed deluxe 10" action figure perfectly captures the character's menacing look. It features chain-slamming, chain-jabbing and sound effects that mimic important scenes from the hit motion picture.

This Figure is just plain awesome. It towers over all the other figures, except of coures my 14" Treebeard. But he still manages to look threatening, even next to Treebeard.
It is so awesome, I love the rubber texture of his skin, and the details are amazing. He lacks articulation, but how nimble were the movie trolls? The details on his teeth and rotting gums are fantastic, you can almost smell his horrid breath. I love it.
A word of caution to collectors:
This is a popular Amazon.com item, and the condition you get might be lacking. After waiting almost two months for mine, it finally arrived, and the box was damaged. Not just dinged up but DAMAGED. The corners were in very poor shape, and the plastic on the front had a huge gaping hole in it. So much that I could start to remove the figure from the inner packaging through it. Fortunately I wanted to open this sucker up, and get him out of the box as fast as I could. I was so excited he'd finally arrived.
But other than that I have no complaints. He does require 1 AA battery, not included.
He stands all on his own, with no manipulation what so ever. I still haven't found a pose that can make him fall over.
The helmet is even removeable. Get this guy and you will see what a truly great piece this is. I bought it based soley on Amazon's picture, and let me tell you, the picture doesn't come even close to giving it justice.
I absolutely love this toy.
It is one of my three favorite LOTR Figures. The Best Three are Sauron 10", Treebeard 14", and this beauty. I promise you, any LOTR Fan will not be disappointed in this excellent figure.

The Armored Troll figure is so far one of the biggest Lord of the Rings figures available. I just picked this huge "hulking" sucker up and I must tell you it's awesome. If only the same guys at ToyBiz went the route of the LOTR figures and made a HULK figure with the detail and size that the Troll has, it would have been one of the best Marvel figures ever made. This figure is just awesome, the box is great. It's display is perfect for any collector, for the kid in all of us this is one durable toy and so very fun to play with. I'm planning on buying 2 more to open so I can re-create the scene from the Two Towers at the black gates of Mordor, when the 2 Trolls were being forced to open the gate doors for the Easterling army.
Get this figure, get 2 or 3... You won't be disapointed. It's so awesome seeing this huge figure overshadowing the smaller 6" figures from the same line. Just AWESOME!

When it came to Toybiz and its line of LOTR figures this monstrous "doorman" of Mordor was a real doozy. It had an outstanding textured combination of plastic, rubber, vinyl & cloth sculpture incorporated with hand activated "Sound & Action" effects.

Height: The beast itself stands 10" tall. However, while at rest the right arm is raised significantly higher than the product image depicts. This static shelf pose now reaches to 12.625" in height.

Head: Very cool plastic helmet that incorporates long side "blinkers" like those often used to prevent horses from distraction. The gruesome mouth is plastic while the dimwitted eyes, flaring nostrils & snarling lips are sculpted from soft rubber.

Note: If you are in the market for one of these it's important to beware of those that have not been stored properly as the facial rubber can become brittle, crack or tear.

Body: Muscular, wrinkled & heavily scaled, and composed predominantly of plastic except for the front half of the chest which is rubber. Unlike the Battle Troll the plastic 3-fingered hands are molded closed.

Clothing: As mentioned earlier the segmented helmet is plastic. Both the shoulder straps & waist wrap are vinyl with each possessing buckles and the later having side ringlets. The short loincloth is fabric.

Articulation: Not knowing the mechanism that works the mouth I will just say that head has perfect swivel but very limited up & down action. The shoulders & hips are cut-swivels, and the elbows are hinged.

Action Feature: The back has two large levers. Pull one down and the right arm comes forward & down in "Chain Slamming Action". Pulling the other one down creates "Extending (L) Arm with Chain-Jabbing Action.
