4.0 out of 5 stars This toy is awsome!
This action figure is great. It has a very moveable body. It looks just like Newborn Lurtz from The fellowship of the ring. Lurtz comes with whipping battle attack action. Just find a position you want him to move his arms up and down with the button on the back, and it might move it's arms in that exact way. I think that Borimir vs. Lurtz looks cool too. This toy is'nt that bad but it just is'nt that good to play with. My biggest problem is that it does'nt come with a decent weapon, or any armor. If you want a better one get the gimli uruk-hai two pack. This toy is ok.There's not much to do with it.
Any possible leg movment is blocked by that cloth, and that arm thing is'nt useful in battle. Not that it's a bad figure...

The Newborn Lurtz is excelent. It,s detail is great because he looks like he just came out of the clay. His hair looks wet and he has the red marks on his face. On his back is a lever that lets you swing his arms around. This is the best battle action I've seen. The 7 tailed whip he comes with wasn't in the movie but it fits perfectly in his hand and seems to go well with the figure. As far as durability this figure seems to stand up to loads of punishment so if you like to watch your figures drop of chairs or tables while your playing feel free to with this guy.

Wow...this is just a great toy! I would like to start off by saying this character royally freaked me out in the movies!

This is Lurtz immediately after his birth in the pits of Orthanc; he is an Uruk-Hai created by the evil wizard Saruman. He comes with a whip that fits into his left hand. On his back is a knob that controls battling action that is the most inventive I have ever seen! Moving it up moves both arms up. Moving it down moves them down. Moving it to the right swings his left arm out, and moving it left swing his right arm out. Changing the position of the arms at the joint can make this look really interesting! And lastly, that expression on his face is so TOTALLY sociable, isn't it? :)

5.0 out of 5 stars Fellowship of the Ring Newborn Lurtz Action Figure, February 28, 2011

This figure is great! He is very durable, and comes with a nice whip. You may think the whip will just fall out of his hand,(which is what I thought when it got here)but it has a peg which you fit in a hole in the figure's hand. I would suggest putting it in and keeping it there because the peg seems like it will break if you put it in and take it out a lot. I also must note that the feet should not be counted as places you can move. They can not move very much either way. One of the best things about it is a peg in his back. If you move it right, left, up, or down his arms will go the other way. All in all it is a great toy. I'm glad I got it.

4.0 out of 5 stars Newborn Lurtz, April 7, 2003

This review is from: Lord of the Rings Trilogy Fellowship of the Ring Action Figure Newborn Lurtz (Toy)
This is basically Lurtz when he was just born(why's he so big though?)It has loads of details, and is very durable, so there's no risk of breaking it. He has 12 points of articulation(head, arms, elbows, waist, legs, knees, ankles) His action feature consists of a big knob on his back that you move about to control his arms. His proportions are good, but his pecs and abs are a little to over-sized from what you see in the movie, imo. He has a whip, which "is" just "bad". I would've like removable armour, but hey, you can't have everything. All in all, 2 thumbs up!

4.0 out of 5 stars Newborn Lurtz, August 1, 2002

This toy is a fun toy. It has good detail in the whole body and has a six tailed whip. This toy has eleven action points, a dull red color with some black spots. It has slick black hair. The whole figure has a dull color to it but is good for the shadowy life of Lurtz. Its also good at standing so it doesn't need a stand. I recommend this toy for five years old and up.
I rate this toy four stars for fun.

I like this toy. It has good detail, it stands up easily on its own, and it's battle-action feature works well for playing with. The only bad thing about this toy is that the whip it comes with is stupid. It's a flimsy weapon and it really looks dumb. The toy is cool enough already without the whip, and in the movie Lurtz doesn't use a whip as a newborn, or as a grown fighter. Cool toy overall.

This figure is very fun to play with, as its arms move so well. Lurtz can easily be put near an opponent, and then knock him down with a swipe of his arm (you control his arm movements with a joystick like switch in his back). The detail is also amazing with Lurtz bearing his yellow teeth. All in all a great buy.

Hey Lurtz really is the strongest orc. I mean he could break even if you droped him 10 feet on to a hard surface. Speaking of his face it is dead on. But DO NOT get your hopes to high if your looking for a ACTION figure!Mabe if your kids play with him they will read the books.
