2.0 out of 5 stars Hmm.., April 16, 2011

The biggest problem with reviewing this album is that i have nothing to say. I mean i actually got stoned prior to my first listen. I don't think every AMT release requires a dose of acid.. but maybe that's where i lack knowledge.
So first so you know where i stand in my love of AMT. A prior review of mine:

"In Reference to Acid Mothers Temple's current tour and Monday nights show at the Chop Suey, Seattle.

Its hard being an opening band. Period. Its especially hard being an opening band for AMT.
Shilpa Ray & Her Happy Hookers did just fine. With a special blend of booze-drenched New Orleans romance.
They did the job. Shilpa's grinding, yet sweet vocals accompanied by her accordion, give what would otherwise be bland
music a definite curve. Overall A positive set. Yet, its tough going to a show knowing your eventually going to see (whatever the current incantation is of) Acid Mother's Temple. Acid Mother's released a record some time ago named "The Magical Power
From Mars" and that's exactly what this band is... A magical power, definitely not from earth.
I went through so many emotions during their set: doubt, regret, anger, joy, over excitement, peace.. its unreal.
At times lying in a grassy field seemed a fine dreamy state for the sounds slowly being built, until suddenly i was launched
into some sort of piercing acid drenched murder scene. Kawabata puts Hendrix to shame. From pure psych to dueling vocals reminiscent of traditional Japanese music, all the way to the comedic "Chinese Flying Saucer"
this was a mind-blowing set, by all four members. If there's one show i want to remember, or that you should not have missed (as im sure there's many i have missed) this was one. I'm glad i found a reason to shake kawabata's hand
maybe some of that magical power dust will rub off on me. A+."

People like to say that AMT is a mixed bag. I disagree. 75% of their releases are beyond life as we know it. But most the live releases that lack the fervor of the live shows, and a few uninspired 70's riffs jumbled into a lacking freakout, including this album deserve the shitcan.
