Great book!,

This review is from: Lord, I Want To Be Whole: The Power Of Prayer And Scripture In Emotional Healing (Paperback)
When I came across this in the bookstore I was going through some tough times, dealing with old wounds that never really healed. I went through this book and -- Wow!! It takes a lot of thought, so I plan on going through it again, but she had some excellent points that really made a difference. One thing that she pointed out was that even though she lists "steps" you don't have to go in order, and you'll often revisit them in your life. I liked how she gave suggestions without some "magic formula" that promised instant healing... because life's not like that!

A Life Changing Book!,

This review is from: Lord, I Want To Be Whole: The Power Of Prayer And Scripture In Emotional Healing (Paperback)
A friend recommended this book to me and was also kind enough to give me a copy. I had read one of Stormie's other books and liked it very much. I had seen this book in Christian bookstores, but never thought of purchasing it. But as soon as I read the back cover, I couldn't wait to read it. I can honestly say that this book has changed my life. It has helped me to get a more accurate view of both myself and God. One of the things I like best about this book is Stormie's transparency and honesty about her own struggles and failures. She tells it like it is and doesn't sugarcoat it. This book has given me hope that I too, can reach a place of emotional wholeness and restoration. Another thing that I really like about this book is that Stormie tells her readers upfront that she isn't offering a quick fix. She is very upfront about the fact that emotional wholeness is a process and that will can be a very long and painful process. But she also reminds the reader that with God all things are possible.I have read this book once already (in a single sitting) and intend to read it again and again, especially when I am feeling discouraged. I HIGHLY recommend this book to anyone who is struggling with emotional/spiritual issues and longs for wholeness and restoration.

This is the most life changing book I have ever read; with the exception of the bible. I found this book I believe in 2002 and continue to read it every week. More and more deliverance. I am teaching from it this summer. Gotta own it!!

I joined this prayer group or more of a meeting for women who have some kinds of problems that needed to be healed through Prayer or just to open their hearts to see the gifts God has for them. One of the reading resources that was required was this book. I read it religously and found myself relating to Stormie's stories and following the steps I need to be whole. We need to realize that we have to let go of the strongholds that are not of GOd and give ourselves to him completely. I have now passed this book onto someone who I feel can see the benefits through me and I wish all of GOD's blessings on the women who will read this book and the people's lives they touch.God Bless!

Lord, I Want To Be Whole The Power Of Prayer And Scripture In Emotional Healing
This is a wonderful guideline for assisting those that are emotionally and spiritually injured - a great resource for pastoral staff in recovery ministry. Ms. Omartian's book emphasizes that the Lord loves us so much that He is willing to bring us back to safety, security, and emotional health (Jeremiah 30:17, KJV): 17For I will restore health unto thee, and I will heal thee of thy wounds, saith the LORD" What's great about this book, is that you may read ahead and skip around chapters, to address issues that may be applicable and urgent at the time of your life, without missing the essence of each lesson. Bravo Ms. Omartian! Another great read!

As usual, Stormie has written another fabulous book. This book will help anyone heal from any situation they have endured. The reader will learn to fit the healing puzzle pieces together using Stormie's experience, wisdom, and God's promises - so that you can move on with your blessed and abundant life. I HIGHLY recommend this book! Other favorite "healing" authors: Joyce Meyer, Joel Osteen and Max Lucado.

Disappointed!,

This review is from: Lord, I Want To Be Whole: The Power Of Prayer And Scripture In Emotional Healing (Paperback)
This book is practically identical to Stormie's book "Finding Peace for Your Heart." I've just finished that book and picked this one up, and all the chapters start out exactly the same way. A real disappointment. I'm sure it's an excellent book, because "Finding Peace for Your Heart" was!

I am thoroughly enjoying reading this book. I find that much of it works well with the twelve-step program I am already in. I do look up all the scriptures in my own Bible and find that some are quoting only partial verses or taken out of context. This book is more than a quick read; the steps will need to be worked through a little at a time in order to be effective.

This book is a must have if you have read Stormie's self titeled testimony and are seeking the Lord for emotional wholeness. Stormie takes principals of healing and puts them together in a way thatis understandable & realistic to a person seeking the Lord for the first time or for one who has been for many years. Stormie's life experiences that she shares encourage anyone at any level that we are never out of God's reach, love or care!
