5.0 out of 5 stars A place for warriors in the body of Christ, February 15, 2000
Ms. Arthur is an anointed teacher who is helping this reader discover the "Battle," who is battling whom, why there is a battle, and the armor Jesus left for us to gird ourselves with to effectively fight the one Jesus defeated on the Cross. Satan's deceptions and weapons seemed much stronger, much more fearful before I entered this thought-provoking bible study that is leading me step-by-step to a realization of just what Jesus has already done for us. Ms. Arthur's teaching insist's the student think, yet offers steady help along the way as she builds upon knowledge gained chapter by chapter. If you're ready to work at acquiring the know-how to find life beyond circumstance and above defeat while learning more about scriptures to use the way Jesus defeated Satan during His temptations, this Bible Study re: warfare is for you.

4.0 out of 5 stars The Lord uses Kay to teach us about the battle !, September 23, 1998
By A Customer
This is a study on Ephesians which every Christian should use. Kay teaches us about the importance of the armor the Lord has provided for us. She helps you to identify the enemy, how to be aware of the enemy's strategy, and how to approach the warfare. As a new Christian this was a God sent study for me. It is a 12 week study which you can do on your own or with a group. Kay presented this book, this study in a way in which you felt she was talking and discussing it only with you. I intend on continuing using her studies. Kay has gotten me excited about my study of the Lord's words. I believe that you as well will benefit from her efforts. Praise God for those who the Lord uses and that they listen to His call.

4.0 out of 5 stars Very good guide on spiritual warfare, October 10, 2005
Kay Arthur deftly tackles a topic that not all churches and ministers will discuss: spiritual warfare. That this warfare is all around us, in many of the day-to-day situations we face, is a fact, and Arthur draws constantly and completely from Scripture to arm her reader for battle. The book, which is designed to be an 11-week study but can be read at your own pace, offers daily readings. Most days require the reader to look up and examine more closely specific Scriptural verses. Arthur does a good job of digging into the "evidence" in God's Word for points that she makes; everything is adequately supported in Scripture. What we found most interesting were the real-life stories she quotes from people she's known. Some are rather disturbing, but we must open our eyes to them.

5.0 out of 5 stars Very Thought Provoking -- Helps Develop One's Insights, October 6, 1999
By A Customer
Kay Arthur truly has a heart for God. And He has blessed her (and us) by creating within her heart a love for us members of Christ's body. Through that love, she has developed a wonderful guide that teachs us how to search the scriptures for answers. Furthermore, rather than present a list of her own personal interpretations, she presents scriptures, asks us questions about them, and advises us to seek the guidance of the Holy Spirit while we struggle with the questions. So it is really the Holy Spirit who teachs us. But Kay provides the vehicle for the planned trip. I highly recommend this book to anyone who wants to learn how to "be strong in the Lord" so that they may be able to "stand firm in the evil day". (Eph.6:10-12)

The lessons in this book will teach you to STAND FIRM in the midst trials and turmoil, and will help you understand and apply spiritual truth. Ephesians is the focus of this study and Kay Arthur gives you an overview of the history of Ephesus and how the culture is no different than today's. Kay takes you through the scriptures so you can learn truth inductively and then she guides you in how to apply it. Learn to write your own personal prayers right from the scriptures and activate the power of God's word in your heart and life! It takes diligent study and you need to commit at least 20 minutes a day, but it is well worth the time and effort. You won't want to stop studying once you get into this! I am only on Lesson 4 and am doing this with a group of 7 people and God is already moving in powerful ways. I want to get up on the rooftop and shout the message that EVERYONE needs to do this study! This is a very effective tool for being equipped to do battle, and believe me everyone of us is in some kind of battle, whether we realize it or not. Get prepared!

5.0 out of 5 stars You will grow and be blessed by this book!, July 14, 1999
I have grown so much by reading Kay's books. If you want to grow in your ability to stand firm against Satan then this is a wonderful book. Kay makes you do the digging in the Bible and it makes for a very solid foundation in your walk with the Lord. It is not the type of book to make you see a boogy man around every corner. Very sensible and not sensationalistic. If you do what she recommends for each of the studies then you will be greatly blessed by the Lord through this book!

5.0 out of 5 stars Embraces the Needs of Beginners and Experts, May 20, 2010
If you know little or next to nothing about warfare, this book is a great starting point. If you are an experienced prayer warrior, it will anchor you even more.

Intially, I resisted reading this book, but as I progressed, it became evident that the lessons were strengthening me and my stance against the enemy was in need of improvement. I came away better equipped and a little more humble. Without a doubt, the author has managed to embrace the needs of the beginners, the experts and everyone in between.

This is an awesome book on the Study of Spiritual Warfare. This is so because you are getting your answers from scripture - Genesis to Revelation. This is life changing. A must have! Great for small or large groups. Much of the study is in the book of Ephesians, plus cross references on the enemy and his tactics throughout the Bible.

5.0 out of 5 stars Do you know who YOU are?, October 7, 2008
By
This book is great in that the part of warfare that all believers ever encounter is that it teaches you scripturally who you are in Christ. It covers your authority and what each part of the armour of God stands for.

After reading this book you realize scripturally there is no thing that the enemy can do as long as you stand. You have authority over the enemy!!!! A must read for those unsure of how to handle attacks and what scriptures you can stand behind.

5.0 out of 5 stars Huge help in spiritual warfare, June 10, 2007
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I first went through this study 11 years ago, it was given to me as a graduation present. When I wanted to focus on spiritual warfare again and didn't have access to my old book, I purchased this. This book is an excellent way to sharpen your spiritual weapons and hone your armor. As I said before, the first time I read this was 11 years ago and I still remember snippets when I am going through rough times. I would highly reccomend this to anyone who is interested in learning how to conduct spiritual warfare. It is a very scriptural look at the battle we face and how to conquer our enemy.
