It's a shame that Anna Lieff Saxby only wrote one book because this is quality. For a Black Lace novel it has an intriguing plot with character conflict and development, and a cast of interesting characters who get into some very inventive sexual situations. You won't have read anything like this anywhere else.

Of course the real reason to read this is Lord Wraxall himself, who genuinely deserves to be listed as one of fiction's great bad guys you hate to love. I refute another reviewer's claim that he is completely unlikable. He has humour, style, and with his cool arrogance and obvious wit, steals every scene he's in. He even has a vulnerable moment, though you might blink and miss it.

I really hope that Anna Lieff Saxby writes more someday, because her fans miss her!

Its take a minute or two to really get into the book but once I got going it was hard to stop. The writing is good, keeps you entertained and sticks with a storyline. I focus on this becasue of all the choppy, awkwardly written erotica novels out there these days. Its a feast for the senses so go ahead and dig in!

Hot and steamy throught the entire book! Great if you love historicals!

Pretty good storyline about 2 lovers who were separated by betrayal. Well written and keeps the pace going throughout the book.
