one of my favourites,

This review is from: Lords of the Seven Rays (Mass Market Paperback)
I've been reading a few books from this publisher and this has to be one of my favourites! In the first part of the book the authors go through each of the 7 chohans (sanskrit for "Lord") of the 7 rays of God. She takes us on a journey to visit these masters as we review with them their past lives, what they did and what kind of a person they were. I discovered which master i felt closest too and was able to attune with him better now that i feel closer to him. I can also receive assistance from him, the closer i am. Perhaps even better is the fact that i can see how they, the masters, who are also mystics and sages, have done it, and now i can walk in their footsteps. The last section of the book gives spiritual messages from each of the chohans to you. The book has a lot for you.

I read this book and found it to be an interesting one!!. I have been a devoted reader of Mrs. Prophet books, for they provide quality information and inspirating stories and valuable insight on ascended masters, karma, reincarnation. This book focus on the seven rays, spiritual energies we are meant to master (power, wisdom, love, purity, science, devotion and forgiveness). Thanks Mrs. Prophet, once again I am delighted.

I LOVE spiritual books. I have tried to read this book twice and I can not get through it. Some of the material seems to be coming from the authors ego and not the Masters. There are great books on the Rays. Prelude to Ascension by Janet McClure or Alice Bailey. It is not easy for me to write something negative but I hope this helps someone on the path.

Masters of Wisdom are men like us who have gone ahead of us in evolution and have now perfected themselves by the very same steps we are taking today. They have learned the every lesson the earth has to teach them, have undergone every disappointment, humiliation, and pain, and are now members of the Spiritual Kingdom or the Kingdom of God or Heaven. Therefore the earth has no further to offer them and most of them have moved on to other higher planets within and outside our solar system.
They have many names, the Great White Brotherhood, the Society of Illumined Minds, the Elder Brothers of humanity, the Teachers, the Guides, the Mahatmas, the Masters of Wisdom and Lords of Compassion. As a group they are known as the Spiritual Hierarchy. Ordinary people refer to them, as Angels and they are the Angels mentioned in Christianity. Some of them have remained on earth for millennia living occultly in the mountainous and desert regions of earth beneficently overseeing the evolution of their fellow men and women. Some of them are quite well known names in every field of human endeavour both religious and secular such as science, philosophy, literature, art, music, economics, and politics. Those who are in incarnation, some of them were born to the world in the normal way while others live in their self created bodies of illusion (mayavirupa). They do not suffer from diseases as we do, do not grow old as fast as we do and some of them are thousands of years old. They do not even have to eat, drink or sleep and can appear and disappear at will. They are omniscient and omnipresent and are able to see the past, present and future as one in the eternal now. All the Masters belong to one of the 7 major ashrams (groups) depending on their soul ray. Master Morya (St Peter) is a Master in the first ray ashram. Master Koot Humi (St John the Beloved) and Master Djwhal Khul (writer of Alice Bailey teachings) are in the 2nd ray ashram. English master is in the third ray ashram. Master Serapis, Mozart and Beethovan are Masters in the 4th ray ashram. Master Hilarian (St Paul) is a Master in the 5th ray ashram. Master Jesus and the Master who was Madonna are in the 6th ray ashram. Master Rakoczi is a Master in the 7th ray Ashram. He was known as the Comte de St Germain and, before that, in England, He was known as Roger Bacon and later again as Francis Bacon. http://www.einterface.net/gamini/masters.html

This review is from: Lords of the Seven Rays (Mass Market Paperback)
Review of "The Lord's of the Seven Rays-Mirror of Consciousness" by Mark L. & Elizabeth C. Prophet (ECP)."The whirling of the mind must be stilled. "The thoughts that arrange the molecules of the mirror of consciousness need the calmness of a still pool-- "That we may be able to see clearly." So opens Book One of this unique book. These quote is "Eastern" in flavor, to-be-sure. And, I will attest that as a member of the group that spawned this work, my mind was only "whirled" more by being a member! But, I was young then. Not that young, but tender at only 22. Naïve and innocent, too! It was 1987. The Still Pool came in 2010! This book is distinctively an American phenomenon from within a distinctly Western spawning. The group's origins are found in Theosophy and the Arcane School of Annie Besant and Alice A. Bailey, respectively. Later, in the early part of the 20th century, we see it take from Guy Ballard and his "I AM Activity". The group I AM speaking of is the "Church Universal and Triumphant" or "CUT" to its members and those familiar with it. I would say that no other group integrated the East and the West quite like the CUT. This is clearly evident if this book is given a chance. From its enigmatic and controversial leader ECP, known affectionately as "Mother" or "Guru Ma" to her followers, the richness found in its literature cannot be denied, even if it is somewhat obscured by the New-Age cloak covering much of it. This "New-Age Cult" part is often the most off-putting and the sincere truth seeker would do well to know that beyond the trinkets and baubles of the mind, lay a depth of love found here that, in its own way, is unmatched. The books and pearls of wisdom like this one are a unique look at one of the more controversial yet conservative aspects of the New-Age Movement that began over a century before when Mdm Blavatsky wrote the Secret Doctrine and introduced the East to the West. For those who take to it like a fish to water, well, become enlightened and Self-Realize. For those whose mind is disturbed by such a statement, know that your material brain at its pinnacle is all I AM asking you consider as possible. To the materialist, I say, spiritual things are nothing more than material things in funny, material brains. We human beings get to relate to all of this through our material brains. We've always got that in the reduction. So, don't end there, begin and end there. Don't be surprised to find that real spirituality is material, not spiritual. Real enough to see it, feel it, taste, touch and hear it. How else would we make it real? This book will ask that of you, page-in and page-out. Let me give you, the potential buyer, another taste. And, since you are here, now, in this brief moment reading this review, please have patience and digest all of these words. If they don't taste good, let that be looked upon by you as either a testament to your dependent origination or a test of your so-called "free-will" and in either case, perhaps you will not dine again here. If these words do taste good, well, have a nice meal, purchase this work, and then have many more meals of it to come. ECP "channeled" these words of the Maha Chohan July 2nd, 1963: "15 The Reflecting Pool of Consciousness "May a mantle of the adoring grace of God descend upon your hearts with a gentleness of rain from heaven. Upon the stage before me, I perceive a vast circular pool. Surrounding this pool are the beautiful verdant green leaves, the pads of lilies cupped and cupping the pure white flame of cosmic purity. "This pool shines now with an azure blue. Resplendent and glorious is this pool. At first, there is a murmuring of the sacred breath rippling gently upon the waters, and then all is still. This pool, symbolical of your own blessed consciousness, is now still; and reflected on the surface you will perceive first the luminescent orb of the moon, polarizing the emotional body of mankind. And men are stirred because they recognize within their feeling world a sense of adoration for the beauty and loveliness even of the reflected light. "Now the scene changes and the moon passes across the heavens in its direct course until, sinking beneath the horizon, it is no longer visible in the reflecting pool. Myriad stars shine there and they, too, are reflected-magnificent orbs of light from afar. These are representative of Cosmic Beings and of the Ascended Masters' consciousness. These too, as Cosmos' secret rays, are reflected and mirrored in the consciousness of mankind "Now there comes a mighty descending wind from on high. All seems turbulent for a moment, for there is a stirring to the very depths of the pool of consciousness. And then once again a voice speaks, 'Peace, be still.' "Now all is silent. In an attitude of expectancy and waiting, children of the Light slowly behold the dawn of Being, a luminous radiance of the rising Sun. It is the Sun of their own Divine Being. The dawn moves toward noontime and from the zenith of the heavens there descends a glow of effulgent power which in its burning majesty sweeps into the waiting, receptive consciousness of the individual the full-blown momentum of Divinity-the Sun of his own God-free Being. "In this allegory which I am bringing to you, this splendid luminous orb is symbolical of the highest consciousness. For the consciousness of the individual is the doorway through which comes all experience, both material (natural) as well as spiritual. Your consciousness, beloved ones, functions not only as a surface mirror, reflecting that which is poured into it from everyday living, but also as a sea that has depth. And there is mirrored in the internal depths of consciousness the wonders of God which have not yet been cognized by the surface mind of man. "Know, then, that in probing the laws of the universe-the laws of Universal Love and the laws of the Holy Spirit-you must be able to cognize not only the surface musings of the mind, but also the very depths of conscious being. And you must pray for your consciousness to be expanded so that you may begin today to perceive the depths of your own being and not that of another. For all Life is one, and it is in the splendor of knowing the oneness of Life through the doorway of self-illumination that the soul comes to understand the all- knowing depths of the Holy Spirit. "It is the sacred wind of the Holy Spirit which moves across the reflecting pond of being and sweeps away the pseudo images of the emotional impacts of life amplified by the moon. And so in the allegory of the day and the night, man perceives that most of life which manifests here upon this blessed planet is a mere reflection of the real and is not real at all. For the moon but reflects the light of the sun toward the earth and is qualified by the consciousness of those who behold it from various aspects of life, of relativity. "From this study of the reflecting pool of consciousness, know, O chela, that beauty and the ability to make things sacred is given to man. And many consider, by reason of wrong allegiance, that the moon itself is sacred or that the elements of natural life are sacred. But I tell you of a deeper allegiance. I tell you of an allegiance that did not begin with your first breath but that commenced with the identity of God. I tell you of your First Love. "I tell you of a love that began before the pool mirrored the consciousness of outer world identity. I tell you of a love that knew identity and oneness with the Father within the flaming consciousness of God before Cosmos was or before outer manifestation existed. It is to this that you ought to pay allegiance, for it is through this magnificent love that your hearts will take dominion over the outer form rendering it sacred by consecration and a pure heart which perceives the matter vessel as the temple of the Sun (Son). "When Adam, symbolical or real, began to receive the consciousness of God in the reflecting pool of self and then did not qualify it with the proper divine ideas, he himself was thrust from Paradise. And therefore, the angel with the flaming sword stood to keep the way of the Tree of Life, for no man can profane the Holy Spirit. No man, by misqualification or by misuse of free will, has the right or the power to desecrate the altars of heaven or to distort the Divine Image where only the light of heavenly patterns should appear in the mirror of consciousness. "Mankind may draw a circle upon the earth representative of the confines of their own identity. They may walk within that circle but not with impunity, for even there the great law of karma does function, yet within a confining area and era of life. Blessed ones, recognize that in the reflecting pool of consciousness there is a solemn responsibility to Deity which is given to you with such utter sweetness as to enfold within it all the elements of beauty known to all of the poets and bards of the past as well as to all who ever shall be. "Some of you are aware that I was embodied as the one identified as Homer and you realize that I have a sense of spiritual beauty in my understanding of mankind's philosophical as well as his historical approach to the Deity. Individuals yearn to know God, and therefore they seek the mystery of Self-realization as they stand before the portals over which are inscribed the words 'Man, know thyself.' But there is a golden thread of identity that runs through civilizations such as the Minoan, the Grecian, the Roman, and all to the present. This golden thread penetrates the very fabric of the earth body and makes of society a unified outpicturing-not a conglomerate mass of differing ideas but a unifying consciousness turned to some amount of diversification but always returning to the central theme and purpose for which man first came into existence. "And therefore, let the sages of Babylon rage, let mankind cherish false ideals if they will-they cannot alter or affect the Sun of Being that is reflected in the pool of Divine Identity. They cannot affect the effulgent light of Divine Reality whose Sun in the splendor of its shining sweeps aside by its dazzling power every lesser image and renders unto man the immaculate divine concept at all levels, at every hour. "Let the heathen rage and the people imagine a vain thing if they will! It has no power to shake the heavens, for only the power of God and the power of the Holy Spirit can blaze forth and extend itself in all of its immortal shining into the eye and heart of man. As though with a burning coal from the altar of God in the Great Central Sun, there is etched upon the consciousness of man a thought which will not elude him, though he were to have a billion embodiments. It is a thought that would cause him to yearn to know the immortality and purpose of his God-design and to return, homing at last, to the Heart and Mind that breathed identity into manifestation and said to the thing that was formed, 'Behold, thou art a living soul.' "Fire, beloved ones, descending from God upon the day of Pentecost quickened the hearts of men and made them aware of their Divine Self in a manner in which they had not previously experienced the I AM Presence in their entire embodiment. The power of the Holy Spirit is always the unifying golden thread that passes through all consciousness and causes that consciousness to be reminded of its birth in flame, in mortality-in duality-the reflection of the unreal and the real. In the case of the moon, beloved ones, it is an orb which but reflects the Sun of reality. In the case of the Sun, that which is reflected and mirrored in consciousness is the reality; and man must know that the sunbeams which descend upon the mirror of consciousness are little threads of light and fire. "Some of you have observed at diverse times, as the sun is setting in the West in late afternoon, how shining through the clouds the radiant sun-beams are depicted almost as a ladder of light reaching down to the waters and troubling the sea. And you have heard it said that the sun is drawing up water into the clouds in order that it may spin a rainbow majestic and erect it to man's vision in the heavens. So it is with the divine idea as the fire of Divine Reality descends from the Sun of Being, the Sun of God, as the power of the Holy Spirit descends from the Father and the Godparents of this system of worlds, Helios and Vesta, and from the divine parents of the universes, Alpha and Omega in the Great Central Sun--or even from the splendid Sun of your own beings anchored within the forcefield of your own physical heart as the threefold flame of Life. "This sun in its shining forth extends with each new contact a ladder of new hope to every heart. And as these light rays come down in all their tangible power and are mirrored in the consciousness of your being, you must fuse yourself with those beams in order that as they withdraw from their shining, your consciousness, indissolubly one with them, will rise with them back into the Sun of Being and you will become absorbed, as it were, into God Reality and not into the illusion-which is nothing more than the moons reflection in the pool. "I would like to clarify for you that the Ascended Masters of whom I spoke as 'stars' are not illusions, they are God-free beings who have fused with the causal body, the Sun-star of Being, the First Cause and the First Love. And they do indeed shine 'as the brightness of the firmament,' for they are the wise ones who have turned the multitudes to the Sun of Righteousness-as the stars for ever and ever. "But these Ascended Masters are far from the identification of mankind in their shining because mankind have not yet ascended into the heavens do you see?-but they remain anchored upon earth. And even you who are the children of the Light cannot rise into your own ascension merely by the power of the Ascended Masters, but you must appropriate and utilize your own divine opportunities and open up the door of your own identity and win for yourselves your own victory yet so, as by the grace of the sacred fire. "This is why inscribed over the door of the Temple of Being are the words 'Man, know thyself,' for no other can know God for thee. And to know the self as the Light-emanation of God who is more than a mere reflection or reflector but one with the Sun Source itself, 'bone of my bone, flesh of my flesh'-this is the great mystery of Life unfolding. "Each one of you, then, must acknowledge for yourself the power of the descending Holy Spirit, must feel the tremendous pulsations of that magnificent God in action and feel the arms of all enfolding Light descending around your own being and world and exalting you into the starry heaven of God-design, that you may also become a part of those constellations of God blazing in the Cosmos to whom we all pay allegiance--for we behold in them the Sun behind the sun not as mere reflection but as God-conscious Being incarnate! Therefore, when I meet EI Morya as he journeys hither and thither upon the earth, I say unto him, `Salutations, Brother Morya, splendid son. I love you!' And he replies to me, `Beloved Maha Chohan, my heart's love to thee, O splendid star of God!' "And so it is with every Ascended Master. As we greet each other upon the cosmic highways, we speak to one another with such a charge of love that it actually blesses the entire universe; and so the reverberations of our love, occasioned by our simple hello, are echoed throughout the Cosmos. Would you be so? Then appropriate the power of the Holy Spirit into your world and you, too, can cause the powers in the heavens to be shaken; for there is no limitation whatsoever to anyone, and all have the right and the destiny, if they will appropriate it, to enter into and obtain by divine grace the fullness of their victory over every limiting concept. "And it was never the intention of God to make one splendid star of being and then say to all lesser luminaries, `Behold, you must bow to this one star.' This was a Luciferian idea and not a cosmic idea of the Mind of God. Mankind must recognize that Light, in all of its essential beams, is truly one radiant outpouring of the Cosmic Christ composed of many, many portions. Blessed ones, man has labeled those portions and called them photons. And so, from the first photon of light unto the myriad particles, or waves,. of light pouring forth from the fountainhead of God in the Great Central Sun, there is ever a streaming forth of little photons of light which after making their rounds through matter molecules of manifestation return for repolarization back to the heart of God. Yet all of this light is one-one with the fountainhead, one with the Divine Identity, one with the ideal. "And only in man, the manifestation of God, and in the Hierarchy of heaven where God-identity holds sway, is the soul given the right to take dominion over these little forces of light, to marshal their forces, to build up the forcefield of their being, to enlarge the borders of their own causal body and store up treasures in heaven that they may be beneficiaries and benefactors at the same time. "For all men are beneficiaries of the Godhead-taking in the Light beamed to the depths of the pool-and all are intended to be benefactors to all life, reflecting back to life from the pool of consciousness that portion of the Light that is theirs to impart as gift and grace to others. Thus you may become with the Lords of the Seven Rays transmitters of the spiritual graces and the gifts of the Spirit, and by and by you become the transformers of the power of the Holy Ghost-to those who are able to receive the light of the Son of God in their own reflecting pool of consciousness. "Has it not been said, `Behold, the heaven is my throne and the earth is my footstool.'? Then, beloved ones, the kingdoms of this world are the footstool kingdoms of God's own Sons (Suns)-of the shining ones, those who entertain, and contain, Gods consciousness in their awareness of Self. And those of you who would recognize the true forte of Divine Being will recognize that all historical ideas are not the ideas of God. Historical ideas and the epochs of history are far too frequently woven into a pattern of light and shadow because mankind have woven in the shadow and God has woven in the light. But extrapolating from all of this, we find emerging upon the whole tapestry of life an epoch of victory. For man, as he began to rise long ago, continues in a certain mark of progress. "But the greatest souls have too frequently, by some counts, like cream, been skimmed off from the milk and been elevated to the table of the Lord through the ritual of the ascension. This has left mankind and the children of the Sun evolving here upon this earth with less and less highly evolved beings in embodiment, whereas the requirement of the great law necessitates that the Great White Brotherhood have and hold mystery schools at inner levels throughout the world. It is through the activities of these schools and their embodied representatives that the Ascended Masters and particularly the Lords of the Seven Rays (for it is their specific assignment from the Lords of Karma) may seek out and train chelas in the power of divine magnetization. "For thereby some will understand their part in the universal scheme and desire to emulate the ascended beings, finding happiness in pursuing God with all of their heart, their mind, and their being. Thus you can understand that the Lord hath· need of you who are embodied to qualify yourselves as world teachers, that many may be awakened to the path of their own Mighty I AM Presence. For having once seen the Lovely Presence face to face, they shall never again be turned from this dazzling Sun of Being, nor stray from the law and the grace of the Sun (Son) of God to any lesser light. My lovely Sons (Suns), the Chohans of the Rays, how I love them for what they have done on behalf of mankind! In appreciation of their devotion I would this day direct your attention to them one and all. For the Holy Spirit functioning in them has enabled them to perform works of meritorious service. "Go thou and do likewise, and you will be a true disciple of the Holy Spirit no matter which ray you may function upon. For the rainbow of God, the rainbow of divine promise given to Noah long ago, refers to the promise of God, which, like a rainbow, arches over the illusions reflected in the pool of consciousness and fulfills the promise of Christhood to every child of God who elects to embody the Light (Christ consciousness) of the seven rays. "And the promises of God are of heavenly substance-radiant, glorious, and wonderful. You will find these colors in the causal body of your own God-identity. Those who, as Christ directed, shall lay up for themselves treasures in heaven by depositing within their causal body the virtue which they · have externalized by reason of the playing of the Holy Spirit upon the heartstrings of their being will be those who shall shine as the sun in its splendor in the kingdom of my Father, exemplifying the Christ-identity of all. The Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, then, in one triune shining in the threefold flame within the heart of child-man, will ·be externalized in action and all lesser images will fade away in the fullness of the Divine Identity. "Unless this occur within the individual, there is a mere transfer of a human personality from form to form without cognizance of the reason for which a living soul first came into being and received from the Holy Ghost the breath of Life. Inasmuch as the chelas of this path do not elect to experience unnecessary suffering or to see such suffering delivered upon the race, I am sure you will aspire to do the things which I advocate you do-to be a comforting presence to Life but, above all, to receive the ministration of our comfort in order that you may take your comfort in your Divine Identity, that you may hide within the folds of the Masters' garments and then be unafraid to emerge therefrom in the arena of life to serve our cause, knowing that in the hour you are called, you shall be clothed with the Holy Spirit. And at that hour, it shall be given to you what you should speak and what you should do. "God in his omnipresence enfold thee now one and all in a mantle of the Holy Spirit until, in the splendor of His eternal shining, you, too, are one as I AM with the Person of the Holy Spirit in action-free from all vestiges of outer world shadow. So be it in God's holy name. In memory of the Christed accomplishment of the saints of past ages, I say, May the love and light of Whitsuntide, may the love and light of Pentecost, descend upon your hearts this day and be a cherished part of your pageant of life through all the years that are to come. "Thank you and good afternoon. "July 2, 1963 "Washington, D.C."

Getting to know the Chohans,
This review is from: Lords of the Seven Rays (Mass Market Paperback)
All students of the Ascended Host and the books published through the various organizations sponsored by them, come across the Chohans, or Lords, of the seven rays (aspects of God). Therefore it is very interesting to read more about these great Lords, who represent the different qualities of God. They have all lived on earth and have embodied and specialised in one aspect of the spectrum of God.
In this book, every Chohan is introduced and described using examples from their incarnations on earth. Most people know Saint Germain and some of his incarnations (Columbus, Plato, Saint Joseph (father of Jesus), amongst many others) but most people are not familiar with, say, Paul the Venetian (chohan of the third ray) or Lady Nada (chohan of the sixth ray). Not only biographical and historical information is given about the chohans, but also at least one dictation by each chohan. This makes this book very complete. The reason I rate it 4 and not 5 stars is that the writing style seems to change from time to time and is sometimes a bit hard to follow (unclear). Nonetheless, I highly recommend this book as a unique introduction to the chohans.

Beloved, at least it was action,

"Lords of the Seven Rays" is one of innumerable books published by The Summit Lighthouse, also known as Summit University, Keepers of the Flame or Church Universal and Triumphant. (American media used to call them The Montana Doomsday Cult, for short!) This particular book is better edited and more readable than the 4-volume series "The lost teachings of Jesus". It's attributed to both Mark L. Prophet and Elizabeth Clare Prophet, the long time leaders of this particular religious group. (Both are now deceased).
The Summit Lighthouse is a very eclectic new religious group, mixing traits from at least a dozen religious traditions in a somewhat bewildering way. The main source of inspiration seems to be Guy Ballard's controversial "I AM Activity". I haven't read the Ballard material, so it's not clear to me whether the eclectic hodgepodge was his invention, or whether it's a later innovation by The Summit Lighthouse themselves. Theosophy is another strong influence, perhaps through said Ballard? The group is also heavily pro-American and anti-Communist, and sounds more conservative than the New Age milieu from which it presumably recruits. For instance, The Summit Lighthouse opposes abortion and population control. The group believes that the destiny of man is guided by Ascended Masters, heavenly beings who used to live on Earth as humans, but who rose to a more lofty status through a succession of re-incarnations. There is a bewildering number of these Masters, but the most important ones seem to be Saint Germain and Jesus Christ. In this book, we also meet Paul the Venetian, El Morya, Lord Lanto, Serapis Bay, Hilarion, Nada and the Maha Chohan. The first part of "Lords of the Seven Rays" contains the (fictitious) biographies of these Ascended Masters. The Prophets use these biographies to claim a long list of important historical characters. Thus, El Morya is said to have incarnated as Mogul emperor Akbar the Great, Thomas Beckett and Thomas More. Paul the Venetian is actually Renaissance painter Paolo Veronese. Saint Germain was Roger Bacon, Christopher Columbus and Francis Bacon. He also inspired the American Revolution and anointed (sic) George Washington president of the United States. In this way, The Summit Lighthouse (a small sectarian group founded in 1958) can claim a venerable tradition going back thousands of years. The whole thing is put forward with a completely straight face, and almost give an impression of naïve, childlike faith. Occasionally, the claims of the Prophets are almost comic, as when they suggest that the Statue of Liberty in New York City is ensouled by an actual spiritual being, known as Mother or The Goddess of Liberty. The goddess has an invisible temple suspended in mid air right above Manhattan, which can be reached by spiritual means. Pilgrimages to the Statue of Liberty are recommended. Another invisible temple, El Morya's retreat in Sikkim, can be reached by concentrating on the tune of "Land of hope and glory"! A piece of information that might rub evangelical heresy-hunters the wrong way is that Jesus Christ himself re-incarnated. He was the Patriarch Joseph, Joshua and Elisha (that's why he recognized John the Baptist as the re-incarnated Elijah). Unfortunately, this seemingly harmless little group has often been accused of being weird, nasty and cultic. Their habit of stashing fire arms and building air raid shelters in Montana, militia style, didn't exactly improve their reputation. The second part of the book is made up of channelled messages from the Ascended Masters. My personal favourite is Paul the Venetian, actually Paolo Veronese, who attacks modern art! The idea of a Renaissance painter attacking contemporary art through a spiritualist medium is, admittedly, appealing. I mean, it almost makes sense, doesn't it? Occasionally, the book also contains some unexpected humour, as when Thomas Beckett (a.k.a. El Morya) says in a channelled message concerning his murder in 1170: "Beloved, at least it was action. After all, I had wasted away in France for a number of years". Call me prejudiced, but every time I see humour in a religious text, I suspect fraud... I don't know about you, but I think Mark L. Prophet and Elizabeth Clare Prophet made it all up! :P Read "Lords of the Seven Rays" and find out the truth for yourself...

Unless you are thoroghly initiated into Mrs. Prophet's esoteric beliefs, I would not recommend this book. Throughout its entirety, the author speaks to the reader as if her word was law, and you are accepting it without question. Not only that, but at certain points, the author completely loses her train of thought and branches off into something else. I read up to the second chapter, and I literally threw the book out. So if you are looking for some spiritual fulfillment, I would recommend looking elsewhere.
