5.0 out of 5 stars Loretta Claiborne Story, October 19, 2005
This review is from: The Loretta Claiborne Story [VHS] (VHS Tape)
I liked this movie because Loretta is a girl where everyone is pushing her down and saying she won't make it. Why would they say that? It might have something to do with her mental retardation.

Loretta was trying her best to be a runner but people wanted to take that away from her. I liked this movie because it's lively and it's based on a true story.

Loretta Claiborne is a real person who really runs and mostly everything about this film is true. Loretta did turn down the President. Loretta was tricked. Her mom did have 6 kids as a single mother.

If you look at the cover or back of it, you might think this is going to be so boring. But it is not. It's better than a lot of the movies they come up with nowadays.

3.0 out of 5 stars Excellent script and actors, February 22, 2004
By A Customer
This review is from: The Loretta Claiborne Story [VHS] (VHS Tape)
2/22/04 : This 1999 movie aired on Comcast Cable's "Lifetime Channel":the challenges faced by "special persons",even more so when they are less than normal ,ordinary people but also "more normal than those who are "considerably not normal"-- was significantly examplified with very excellent acting :especially by the character of social worker(actress Camryn Manheim) and the character of Loretta Claiborne(actress Kimberly Elise).
