I don't consider myself a country music fan. I happened to buy this album out of curiosity after watching "Coal miner's daughter." It was an eye-opening experience to listen to this record. Not only does she tell heartfelt life stories, she also sings them beuatifully. Whether she is singing upbeat tunes like "They don't make'em like my daddy anymore," or slow ballads like "When the tingle becomes a chill," she touches your heart with achingly honest emotion filled vocals. I am not ashamed to admit that I get goosebumps whenever I hear "Coal miner's daughter."

I LOVE LORETTA -- THEY (The producers of records) back in the 40s and 50s said that WOMEN WILL NOT BUY WOMEN. So, there were no big female stars. Then came PATSY CLINE she started a trend. She was the greatest.

Loretta came on the scene and started a revolution in the country music. She sang about the facts of life -- the other woman -- the pill (the first time I heard it on the Radio in Chicago was the last time.) It was so shocking it was banned in Chicago!! But we bought her record by the hundreds, thousands. And proved that women WOULD buy women. And she went on to write about life, love, happiness and unhappiness. SHE IS TREMENDOUS. SHE IS TALENTED. And she is beautiful.

Whether you're new to country music, or just adding to your collection, you need this CD. Loretta Lynn is the Queen of country music, and you won't be disappointed by getting this compilation. Highly recommended!!!!

I think Loretta Lynn is the greatest country singer of all time. I have most of her albums. I grew up listening to my mother sing along with Loretta on the radio.

I am a die hard country music fan and only listen to the country classics - Amazon has everything i want from years ago. This and all the others i ordered are great cd's - Guess i love to drive listening to country music as it relaxes me when i need it most! Have it on in my house too! Enjoy! You can keep the RAP ! LOL

These are all of Loreatta's big hit songs & it sounds very good. i recommend it for country fans & Loreatta fans..

This album was one of many that MCA released in the 1980s and 1990s that featured 20 hits from an artist. For some artists, that amount is plenty. But for others, such as Loretta Lynn, featuring only 20 songs does her an injustice. It's good to hear such songs as "I Lie", "One's on the Way", "Blue Kentucky Girl" and "She's Got You". However, some songs such as her 1974 Number one hit "Trouble in Paradise" and her 1977 hit "Why Can't He Be You" do not show up here. Still, the songs here are good and if you are looking for some great country music, you can't beat Loretta's sounds!

20 Greatest Hits contain all the big hits and included one song I could not find "We've Come A Long Way, Baby" on any other cd! I highly reccommend this disc with all of Loretta's big hits and the above mentioned song. GOOD OLD COUNTRY MUSIC AT IT's BEST !
