THE HEART OF COUNTRY MUSIC.,
By A Customer
This review is from: Loretta Lynn - Greatest Hits (Audio CD)
An earlier reviewer referred to Miss Lynn in a very unkind and untrue manner. She is undoubtedly the greatest female country songwriter/singer who ever lived. Her songs portray a depth of emotion and truth which still thrill her fans to this day. She is special and unique-a true legend. Within her beats the heart of country music.

The music of Loretta Lynn helped to lay the foundation for what country music is today. She was a pioneer and a very talented singer. I enjoyed her music as a child and consider her a hero for her time.

The Essence of Loretta is here.,
By A Customer
This review is from: Loretta Lynn - Greatest Hits (Audio CD)
This is some of Loretta's earlier stuff, but all the sass, independence, and wit of Loretta Lynn is on this CD. Any CD that contains her classics such as "You Ain't Woman Enough" and "Don't Come Home A Drinkin(With Lovin On Your Mind)" makes it a 5 Star Rating. When I first heard "The Other Woman," I laughed, ("I'd like to introduce myself.... I'm The Other Woman...)but the song is nothing but the truth like the best of Loretta's songs. I was brought up on Rock N Roll and this is one of the first Country albums I bought. It holds up today as one of the cornerstones of my country collection. It doesn't contain her later classics such as "The Pill" of "Coal Miner's Daughter," but it still is classic Loretta.
