The LW2110 Wireless Digital Security Camera is easy to install right out of the box. The wireless micro-receiver connects directly to a TV, monitor, or surveillance recorder (DVR). The camera can be mounted to most flat surfaces and positioned easily thanks to the 3D Flex stand. Single-channel viewing in full-screen VGA resolution (640x480) or in real-time CIF resolution of 320x240 at 25fps.

The LW2110 is an all-weather wireless camera that can used for both indoor and outdoor installations. Equipped an infrared cut-filter and automatic night vision, the LW2110 Wireless Digital Security Camera delivers clear, sharp images day or night. The camera's high-gain wireless antenna can be angled between 90~180-degrees for easy installation beneath ceilings and eaves troughs and provides an outdoor wireless range of up to 450ft and an indoor range of up to 150ft (with clear line of sight).

Multi-Camera Solution

The camera includes a 3ft BNC extension cable to assist in connecting the wireless micro-receiver to your TV, monitor, or DVR. Use the cable if the connector ports are hard to reach or do not allow room for the receiver. When connecting multiple cameras, we highly recommended connecting all micro-receivers using the 3ft BNC extension cable. It is not recommended to install more than 4 digital wireless security cameras in the same environment to maintain optimal video frame rate performance.

The digital wireless transmission uses FHSS technology (Frequency Hopping Spread Spectrum) operating on the 2.4GHz digital frequency band. FHSS allows the signal to hop quickly between channels within the frequency range to avoid conflicts from other devices. My husband installed this security camera on our front porch and the receiver on our Samsung TV. The installation was reasonably simple once the RCA adapter was found inside the box. The biggest concern with installation was finding a power source for the camera on the outside of my house. For many people the need for a power source near the camera will be a deciding factor as to whether or not to buy a wireless or wired system. (Wireless systems require a power source near the camera to run the wireless transmitter.) The receiver is located in the center of my house with the signal traveling through several walls and a brick facade. Despite this, the picture is still clear on my TV. The video only refreshes a few times per second giving a choppy display as you would expect from a security camera and not a webcam. There is no audio included with this system; however, if you're looking for a wireless digital security camera with good range and picture quality and connects to most devices, this camera may be a good choice for you.

The lorex LW2110 Wireless Digital Security Camera is a user friendly security camera. Setup is relatively easy with the only problem is being able to power the camera in a remote location. There are 2 settings for viewing, a 640 x 480, 12fps mode and a more smooth, 320x240, 30 fps mode which is controlled via a button on the receiver. The night viewing capability is excellent in low light conditions and is easily capable of viewing up to 60ft as stated on the box.

Pros:
+ Easy setup
+ Low light capabilities
+ Wireless
+ Weather proof housing

Cons:
- Limited spatial resolution
- Slow frame rates at higher resolution
- Not network capable

The LW2110 field of view is more suitable for a store shop surveilance than any kind of "long" range (i.e 60ft) surveillance. The spatial resolution of the camera makes it very hard to determine what a person is doing 60ft away let alone identify a person. The slower frame rate for higher resolution mode is also very degrading to the imagery. Things can easily be missed by dropped frames along with this low frame rate. I understand the lower frame rate is most likely to preserve bandwidth but with all the wireless technologies available I would expect better performance than 12fps at 640x480.

I purchased this camera as an add-on to a Lorex system to get a camera view of a property being subjected to break-ins. I successfully caught images of the suspects. I was disappointed in the range of the camera but was pleased with the overall operation of the camera. The receiver for the camera had to be suspended from the ceiling of the garage to receive the tranmissions through a window as the signal from the camera would not pass through the brick wall of the garage.
