I've been trying since the 1st week in January to resolve an issue with a camera which quit working. I've done EVERYTHING Lorex has asked of me, easter egged with Tech support for hours, finally got them to agree the camera was defective, faxed my receipt to Lorex, paid $14 to ship THEIR defective product back to them, they've had the defective camera for nearly 2 weeks now and I cannot get an answer back as to when, if ever, I will get my replacement shipped back to me. Worst customer service in the world. Go ahead and buy from Lorex if you must but you better pray your product never breaks because you will eat the cost.

I bought this unit Aug 2, 2010. I bought a new ,Monitor for this unit. The unit worked properly for 10 days before failing to transfer to the monitor. After several weeks of trying to find the problem I tried contacting Lorex. This required 4 E mail. They asked me to try several tests with no results. They agreed to replace the receiver and their requirements are quite a chore. The replacement did not work at all. This was reported to Lorex Their service dept.contacted me and said he would get back to me over 30 days ago. I have 3 other units that work properly through this monitor. In reading feedback on Lorex several others have had the same problem and get no response from Lorex. I do not recommend this firm.

So far I am pleased with my purchase. All the parts were included, also there was a quick start guide that was very clear and helped me set up the cameras. Everything seems to be working fine so far. It was very easy to set up.

This set was bought to monitor the area around my garage in the back yard and both cameras are able to transmit the distances that were advertised. One of the cameras is a good 350-400 feet away and the signal is still coming in strong to a room at the other side of our home.

A bonus was the audio portion of this camera system. (My other half might not think so). While we were deciding where we would point the camera I was able to watch the monitor inside the house where it would be set up and could direct him to raise, lower or turn the camera one way or the other for the best view. We will also be able to contact each other via the intercom system in the future should we need to.

We were looking at the cheaper model that did not transmit a live picture but this set went on sale during the holidays for just a little more money and we were able to get free shipping too. I like that we can use a SD card because with an older system that we had it was difficult to download and make a copy of a video that captured someone roaming around in our back yard one evening. With the SD card I can print out the best shot on my printer to show the neighbors and the police.

Barring any problems down the road and any difficulties with customer service like the other reviewer made comment about I would recommend this system to my friends.

The motion detection on one of the cameras was bad out of the box. Lorex Customer Support said because it was purchased through Amazon, I have to return the camera to them with a copy of my Amazon receipt. If it had been bought directly from them, they would send a replacement to me without waiting for the return.
I notified Amazon and they sent out a replacement system overnight. I received it at 9am the next day. GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE by Amazon!

The cameras were easy to set up and pair to the receiver and monitor and work great with live monitoring. What does NOT work is the recorded monitoring. The set up for the recorded (triggered upon movement)setting was easy to configure. What does not work is the video sensitivity. I can be within 10 feet of the video monitor (I have 3) and NONE will light up as "seeing" something within its monitoring area. This holds true for both day and night monitoring. The trigger never happens so all movement of human figures (or otherwise) goes undetected and unrecorded. Affectively the video cameras are poorly designed insofar as sensitivity. Consequently this shows up in the low cost of the units. So.....be forwarned, if you are going to be sitting somewhere monitoring what is occuring OR recording the entire time during live broadcast, this this is the unit for you. If you are going to be reliant on its ability to protect or safeguard a residence during day or night hours, move on and don't purchase this item. Also to note, customer service is non-existant. I voiced my concerns and dismay with the recorded video aspects of the unit numerous times. I received NO response. They know.....

I bought this because we moved into our new home and it has a pool...and so it was urgent, to me, to have a way to monitor the pool to protect my 3-yr old...

A few weeks after installation...the wireless receiver stopped working. That was August 2nd. Called about it right away. Today...Sept. 11...I still have not received the replacement from the company. All the info required by me was sent to them Aug. 5th and they didn't reply to any of my emails (which I sent about one a week) asking what was going on. FINALLY when I got angry and said I was going to do THIS (give a bad review)then I got a response. They said that my incident is, "is currently with our service department for processing". It's been a month!

PLUS...for the few weeks it worked the video was very choppy...not fluid at all. More like "still frame to still frame every second. That might have been because the receiver was bad, but I won't know if the video is any better than that till they send me the replacement part. Or, if they will take the whole system back that's what I want to do.
