Not What I Expected, August 26, 2011
This review is from: Lories and Lorikeets (Barron's Complete Pet Owner's Manuals) (Paperback)
This book is a bit dated and has poor quality photos. It mostly deals with keeping Lories and Lorikeets as outdoor aviary birds. If you want a book about keeping a Lory or Lorikeet as an indoor avian companion this book falls short. If you want to have the birds in out door aviaries, then this tome could offer some excellent advice. I was more interestested in keeping a Lory as an indoor companion parrot--so the book didn't meet my expectations. It's difficult because there few books that directly deal with the keeping of these beautiful birds who have special needs unlike other types of parrots that must be met.

lorikeets, January 25, 2008
This review is from: Lories and Lorikeets (Barron's Complete Pet Owner's Manuals) (Paperback)
i was disappointed in this book. I just got a new lorikeet and was hoping this book would have lot of information for me. It wasn't as informative for a new pet owner. Maybe if the title was different. Like how to breed them.
Not for a new pet owner.
