Confronting Life Issues Through Sports,
This review is from: Lorimer Sports Stories (1 of 8 Soccer Book Box Set): Soccer Star! (Paperback)
This is a good example of using fiction, and sports fiction in particular, to communicate important messages and lessons about life to young readers. My daughters said they liked the story and that it was "interesting." They spoke about the characters as if they were friends from school. Another good story for sports-minded girls (or boys for that matter) is Sara's Big Challenge by Ken Reed. It's a basketball-based story with the overarching theme of being true to yourself.Sara's Big Challenge: Who's the Real Me? A Sara Thompson Sports Book
