This cd is unbelieveable...it has the power to put you in such a mellow mood with its soft and sweet catchy melodies. It hasnt left my cd player since i bought it. it doesnt matter that i dont understand what shes saying..i think it sounds better that way anyway. i definitely recommend this cd to just about anyone! im fairly new to japanese music but im glad i came across this cd. i also own their self-titled cd..which is great as well..but this one is better. i bought their cds before i even heard any of their music. it was purchased based on the reviews on amazon and its as great as everyone said it was. phew! All the songs are great but the BEST songs are tracks 3,4,6,7,8,10,11 however, if you do plan on buying this cd..its cheaper as Yesasia.com! you'll probably save about $10. GO BUY THE CD!!!

No matter what people may say...,

...this is TBG's best album by far. Production values are high and every song is perfect. Listeners who aren't used to Japanese or Jpop music may feel a little left out of the loop, but most likely they'll simply overlook it since the music makes up for it 10 times fold. I don't listen to American music anymore because most of it is crap these days, and The Brilliant Green is one of my favorite Jpop/Jrock groups. This album adds dirty grunge to their previous fluffy sound. The most worthy CD yet.

so when my friend told me I should give a listen to this Japanese band I thought he was joking, but holy smokes! This is the kind of album you just can't stop listening to. Brilliant songwriting, amazing vocals and a great sound. Do yourself a favour and get this.

Quite a departure from the first album, I think singer Tomoko got the whole J-Pop thing out of her system with the AWESOME Tommy February6 project. Check that out if you like J-Pop in any way, shape or form!

It's a departure from your average J-pop... J-Alternative is AWESOME, especially the way this band plays it. The beats are all great and the melodies really make you feel the songs, despite it having so few english lyrics. This is totally a heavy rotater on my cd player.

Alternative JPOP,

This band provides a good introduction to Alternative JPOP. While the lack of english lyrics makes it tough, I think this is BG's best album from a pure sound perspective. I also liked Terra a lot.

Pretty good, not their best album though...,

I rushed out to buy this album the moment I found out it was available, and I also came across their first album (self titled:The Brilliant Green) that same day.I have to admit that I liked the first album much better. The third album doesn't have any of the wonderful english songs that the first two did. The only decent songs on there are angel song ~eve no kane~ (although her voice becomes grating after a while), Sayonara Summer is over (really really good), and *Falling star in your eyes (reminiscent of first couple albums). They also switched their primary backing instrument from acoustic to electric guitar. And it seems like they did some strange processing and/or modification to her voice - and I've got mixed feelings about that. It's a good album to add to your collection, if you already have their first two albums. If you don't, I'd suggest looking for their first album first, since that has a lot better songs on it. Though maybe after listening to this more, it might grow on me...

When I bought this album, I assumed that it would continue where the bright and nearly silly Terra 2001 left off. Yeah, I was wrong. But not disappointed. Heck no. This is a pop gem everyone with taste should own. The only thing that gets me are the japanese lyrics, so I can't sing along. Did anyone else think that Tomo's english might have deteriorated from disuse? I mean she says "love" almost like "loaf" in the 2nd song. And it took me a while to notice that she was saying "the angel song" instead of some Japanese phrase. Not that it's bad or anything. Hello Another Way is a catchy single with chords all over the place. The beat is really weird on the 5th song's chorus. All those little details make this a worthy album. I just hope that the 2 guys won't feel left out with Tomoko in the spotlight. Keep up the good work TBG! You have fans in America!p.s. Some ppl have recommended this album to fans of Smashing Pumpkins and so forth. Uh-uh. THey're very different. But if you want smashing pumpkins coupled with sugar melodies, check out Shena Ringo, another j-pop artist. I think she sings about some bad stuff, but hey, I can't understand japanese. |
