5.0 out of 5 stars Too "Trendy" or Not Another Corporate Branding "How To" Design Book?
Customer Video Review     Length:: 0:14 Mins
This is a book about 500+ pages of contemporary graphic and logo designs. That is pretty much about many design books-catalogues in short.

But this one is about freedom. Yes, freedom of thought, freedom of style, freedom of exploration and paradigm breaking. There are tons of logo and corporate branding books out there but this book...

3.0 out of 5 stars A good catalog. That's it.
A HUGE collection of work, compiled as a catalog. I found the "thematic" structure to be ambiguous and useless, and the index seems more an industry directory than anything -- which could be great if you're looking to hire someone. This book will be useful to me as a "flip thru it" visual idea source, but not for developing my own ideas.

This is a book about 500+ pages of contemporary graphic and logo designs. That is pretty much about many design books-catalogues in short.

But this one is about freedom. Yes, freedom of thought, freedom of style, freedom of exploration and paradigm breaking. There are tons of logo and corporate branding books out there but this book series stands out. Presented collections of logos are hip, crude and sometimes provocative. The book celebrates graphics design as it is rather then doing something permanent. It aims at the everyday design: logos for an exhibition, a local retail or online radio station.

Content of the book is divided into categories, which are: Corporate, Culture, Design, Fashion, Motion/ Games/ Media, Music, Art/ Unclassifiable, Political and Sports. Although it could be even better if there were some details on presented graphics, because it is not obvious where is real logos, concepts, presentations or just random graphics as they scattered all together.

Such a wide range of current creativity is a great place to begin your new graphic project and to get you thinking in a variety of ways. This is a great brainstorming tool. The variety of styles helps promote new ideas and concepts. The format of the book is also working on its usability. It is bound and stitched with thick hardboard cover and has a top printing quality. This book was made to be used long time.

If you haven't got any book on logo design yet, then it will be a great to start with. But if you are in search of a breakdowns of logo designs with deep case studies, as I mentioned before, this one is not a "how to" book.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great Colection! Pretty similar to Los Logos 3 though ..., December 3, 2008
This review is from: Los Logos 4 (v. 4) (Hardcover)
The title says it all. It's a great and beautiful book, but if you have Tres Logos don't expect new references in graphics and styles.
If you have Los Logos and Dos Logos or none of them, LL4 is a totally must buy!

Congrats to Amazon! I live in Brazil and this one was the fastest delivery yet.

Great book. AWesome resource for logo, typography and all-around inspiration. Book was bigger than I thought. One of the best $40 investments a designer can make.

5.0 out of 5 stars Brilliant!, September 2, 2009
This review is from: Los Logos 4 (v. 4) (Hardcover)
I own all four of the Logos books, but the 4th edition is the best so far. Full of contemporary and relevant examples. I'd call it my cheat sheet but it's way too long -- something like 500 pages -- it's more of an encyclopedia anyway.

Nice iridescent vinyl texture cover too. Brilliant!

5.0 out of 5 stars Best Logo Book Series this decade!, January 16, 2009
This review is from: Los Logos 4 (v. 4) (Hardcover)
I now own all 4 books and consider them to be the best of my logo book collection. This series has a consistant style and theme that is youthful, forward-edgy, European in taste and very fashionable. This book is in no way corporate. I am a logo designer of 20 years and run the logo design firm BXC at www.nicelogo.com. I highly recommend this book and all of the other 3 to be mission critical as the designer's reference - It is what's hot and what will be hot in logo and typographical design.
