Invigorating!,
By
This review is from: Los Republicanos: Why Hispanics and Republicans Need Each Other (Hardcover)
Los Republicanos is the dynamic byproduct of a first-rate political dynamo named Leslie Sanchez. I have met Leslie in person and I've seen her on television commentating on controversial issues such as comprehensive immigration reform. Los Republicanos was written with a masterful stoke insofar as it captures delicate contextual and cultural nuances while driving home hard-hitting pragmatic politics. I highly recommend this book if you're the type of person who shuns the rhetorical echo chambers and embraces honest dialogue.

Outstanding!,
This review is from: Los Republicanos: Why Hispanics and Republicans Need Each Other (Hardcover)
Los Republicanos is right on target! Finally a book that specifically highlights the issues our culture faces today. As a conservative Hispanic American, I applaud Leslie for sounding the alarm on these critical issues that impact our community. The clear warning for the GOP -- and their rhetoric on immigration risks driving Hispanics away and jeopardizing the Republicans' gain the last eight years should be an eye wakening experience for the Party.
I think Leslie is an articulate, smart, educated woman who obviously knows her market and her "stuff". You go girl!

Powerful argument; fascinating insight,
This review is from: Los Republicanos: Why Hispanics and Republicans Need Each Other (Hardcover)
A powerful argument in favour of the alignment between hispanics' social and political culture and the conservative movement. Leslie Sanchez writes with verve and insight; if she's right hispanics will be a vital (in both senses of the term) part of the conservative movement for decades to come, and seriously dent liberal chances of a long-lasting demographic and political realignment.

Viva Leslie! Viva Los Republicanos,

This is the first book of its kind. It documents clearly why the conventional wisdom about Latino-Americans is wrong. Anyone who wants to understand their behavior in the marketplace or in the voting booth MUST read this book.

A book that every Republican needs to read!,
By Judith Martinez (Lakewood, CO United States) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Los Republicanos: Why Hispanics and Republicans Need Each Other (Hardcover)
This book was incredibly insightful and well researched. Some of her information is a little bit out of date as it was published before the real estate collapse but over all the book is still very relevant. Her personal stories of discrimination and political discovery rang so very true. Many of them were a mirror image of the stories my husband shared with me as he explained what it means to be brown and conservative in America. Politicians on both sides of the aisle see Hispanics as numbers, a source of political power or dollar signs. This book shows how human and how truly American they are. If I could afford it I'd buy a copy for Tom Tancredo and every other Republican of his ilk. Liberals are destroying the very fabric of our nation and they're using Hispanics and other minorities to do it.

"Los Republicanos," from Leslie Sanchez, is excellent! Hispanic-Americans are the fasted growing demographic in the United States. If the Republican Party is to remain competitive its candidates need to appeal to these voters. Not through softening their position on race-based affirmative action, but by explaining that the private sector and free enterprise sustain economic growth, a high standard of living, and opportunity for all Americans, regardless of race. Many Hispanics already agree with Republicans on social issues such as life and marriage. The burden is now on the GOP inspire confidence with respect to the economy (Hispanic Americans are nervous about China too). Republicans also have the unfair burden of disabusing the notion that the GOP is racist. This book will help Republicans appreciate the imperative of communicating effectively with Hispanic Americans. The GOP must be the party of inclusion.

Weakness to Republicans,
By
This review is from: Los Republicanos: Why Hispanics and Republicans Need Each Other (Hardcover)
Leslie Sanchez clearly states the idea of Hispanics being a swing vote for this upcoming election. She uses her experiences as well as other Republican acquaintances to urge Hispanics and Latinos to become affiliated with Republicans. However, most of her research is poorly related to what she is trying to convey and her assumptions on what issues Latinos can relate to with Republicans are too general. I am Democrat and after reading this book, I am even more satisfied in my decision. This book brings weakness to the Republican party.

I would really like to buy the Kindle version of this book. I will not get it otherwise, much as I'd like to.
