I have a large bookcase filled with training and diet books and have been interested in diet and fitness for nearly twenty years. I have also written and published a couple of books myself. When I came across "Lose Weight Fast", I was somewhat sceptical-there are so many books that promise mircaulous results, but basically fail to deliver. For me, this particular book is different in a number of key ways.

Too many books push 'ideal' situations. Obviously, if we could all afford to eat perfectly and train all day, the wave of obesity that James Driver describes so well at the start of the book wouldn't exist. The author gives the tools to help anyone lose weight as quickly (and safely) as possible. But far more importantly, he tells us just how to track progress and actually stay lean and fit over the long term.

One of ther best examples he gives is in explaining the difference between weight loss and fat loss. This is often misunderstood and really is important for so many reasons. The clear explanations on why you are overweight are also great. But Mr. driver also says that these 'reasons' (genetics, lifestyle, stress) really aren't excuses for accepting being fat.

There are some solid chapters on dieting basics and explanations of the various macronutrients. This is important stuff, but it can become a bit dry and scientific in some books. Fortunately for many who just want to get to the essential, there isn't a lot of fluff here.

The training part was also very solid. I am a huge fan of HIIT for dropping bodyfat. I have seen it work so many times and it is a far more efficient method that slow cardio (as well as taking much less time).

This book was comprehensive and interesting. It covers a broad range of areas with regards to weight loss including; what to eat, when, how often, water for weight loss and of course exercise. What really opened my eyes was the psychology of a dieter section. When I read that, it was a huge eye opener, not just for me but for many people I know who have tried and failed at dieting and weight loss.

It doesn't need to be difficult. All it needs is a sensible approach and one that you can stick to. Starving yourself is not how you achieve weight loss, in fact that is how you will achieve the opposite, and this book clearly explains why that is. Recommended.

An in depth book with no unneccesary fluff words. The book covers in detail all about what diet you should be eating and how, which is very important. It also shows you which exercise helps to speed up fat loss. The best bit of the book was when it explains why diets always fail, i wont be doing that again. Usefull and thought proking book on losing weight.

In a word, wow. I have tried so many different diets including Atkins, detox diets and of course the Low GI diets. I have tried and not had much success in the past. I have even tried the Insanity Workout which gave me chest pains after just 5 minutes.Before my friend recommended this book I was down to 18 stone from 21 on all the other diets and exercise programs mentioned above. Since I have read this book cover to cover and taken heed of all the advice and training, I believe if I follow all of the necessary steps, then I will succeed in getting to my dream weight of around 13 stone. Everything this book says makes sense, it is so easy to follow the instructions, even the science parts.

Enjoyable read.
