Awesome!!,
A Kid's Review
This review is from: Losing Forever (Paperback)
This book is one of the best books I have ever read in my whole entire life. The plot is good, the characters are good, the set is good, everything is good. I seriously think that Gayle Friesen is one of the best authors. Her books are just so real and understanding. And what I think I like best about them is that they are modern, contemporary books, but they're not like "The Princess Diaries" or anything. So, basically, I really like this book and I really think everyone, from young adults to old adults, should read this book. I think you will be satisfied.

Losing Forever: The Big Picture, Rachel Lanier,
A Kid's Review
This review is from: Losing Forever (Paperback)
In Losing Forever, a teenager named Jess loses all of the things that she thought was going to be forever. She loses her parents marriage, and her little sisters life. Jess is still struggling to get through each day when she finds out her mother is dating another man, named Cal. She decides to write it off as a phase, until her mother announces they`re getting married! Now, she hates Cal. Now she has to realize that the slim hope she had that her parents would get back together was nothing but an illusion. She can`t turn to her friends because Dell is caught up in her first love, and Sam is seeing her with different eyes. She fears that if they become boyfriend and girlfriend and break up, their friendship wont survive. Then, Angela comes into the picture. She`s the perfect little girl, and introduced a Jes`s new sister. She starts going out with Sam, and Jess, no matter how hard she tries not to, becomes jealous. Later, Jess takes a big chance, and tries to make things right again. Will she succeed? You`re going to have to read the book to find out! I recommend this book to anybody who wants to read a heartwarming, believable story about a young teen, trying to adjust to the changes that life assures.

An insight on Losing Forever by Gayle Friesen.,
This review is from: Losing Forever (Paperback)
Losing Forever by Gayle Friesen is not a light summer read. Neither is it packed with dramatic emotion. It's the perfect stopping point. This book is about a girl named Jes, who has a very messed up life that she is trying to sort out. Her parents are divorced and now her mother is getting married again and Jes thinks it's too soon. She can't even relieve her problems to her friends, one of them is obsessed over a boy, and the other wants to be more than just friends. Then comes in the stepdaughter and she takes her whole life away from her, leaving Jes no room. Everything about this book was great and I didn't have any dislikes. The author even left the book at a good place, not leaving the reader hanging at the end, like some books occasionally do. I loved the way the author showed the main characters' thoughts, you knew she was making a mistake saying a certain something but you could also see how she could make that mistake from her thoughts. This is a very good read and I recommend it to everyone.

My Opinion of Losing Forever,
By ~~Emz~~bIsHoP (Ontario, Canada) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Losing Forever (Hardcover)
Recently I read the book Losing Forever. It was in the Red Maple Series that came to our school. There were 10 books and by far Losing Forever was the best. I couldn't put it down. This is my opinion from a 13 year old kid and different ages may have different opinions. It is more of a girls book but some boys in my class liked it. I discussed the book with my friends and they also realy enjoyed it. I can't wait to read another book from this Gayle Friesen.

Losing Forever- BEST BOOK EVER!,
By Bob G (Ohio) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Losing Forever (Paperback)
I just finished the book Losing Forever by Gayle Friensen and wow... it was amazing! I read it for school and it was by far the best book I've read as an assignment, and one of my favorite books of all time. It deals with relationships of all kinds: the main character, Jes, is trying to cope with her parents' divorce and the fact that her mother will be getting remarried. Her little sister, Alberta, died as a toddler and the family is still grieving. With divorce on top of that, it's two much for Jes to handle. At least she has her two best friends, Sam and Dell, right? Wrong. When her "new sister" (ouch)turns out to be a perfect angel (maybe) and steals one of her best friends and dates the other, and gets chummy with her mother, Jes is feeling very alone. This book captures emotions in an amazing way and is very believable. Amazing!

A Kid's Review
This review is from: Losing Forever (Paperback)
The book Losing Forever is impossibly good from the front cover to the back. All the way through it feels as if your there in the story as one of the characters. A short summary, a girl named Jes (short for Jessica) is having major problems throughout her life. Her parents got divorced, and now her mom is getting remaried to someone Jes doesn't even like. Her best friend Dell is over obssesing with her boy friend and her other best friend Sam wants to be more than just friends. To add on to the drama her soon to be step sister comes in and steals her friends and messes up Jes' already messed up life. Just to make it worse, her step sister Angela is as beuatiful as an angel. Hard to resist. It is highly recomended for anyone to read this book. Five gold stars Gayle Freisen, good job :).

an awesome book reviewed by Clare Lainer,
A Kid's Review
This review is from: Losing Forever (Paperback)
For some people when love leaves so do they but in Jess's case she couldn't. When her infant sister died everything fell apart for her family. Her parents got divorced do to an affair and wahts worse her mom's getting remarried to a total bore. Not only that but his near perfect daughter, Angela, has come for the wedding. Little does Jess know Angela is not as perfect as she seems. She shoplifts, goes out with Jess's best friend, Sam, and cheats on him with Dell, Jess's other best friend's boyfriend, Marshall who turns out to be the biggest moron on the planet. Will Jess change Angela into a moral peerson or will her world be taken out from under her by a demon with horns disguised with long flowing blond hair? This story is a great example of love, tragedy, and comedy. It is easily a five star book for all teens.

Awsome Book - By Lily Lainer!,
A Kid's Review
This review is from: Losing Forever (Paperback)
Losing Forever showed me that you have the power to decide if you want enemies or in this case a sister. I also realized that relationships (of all kinds) don't just happen; you have to make and want them to happen. Losing Forever is a wonderful book that teaches a different lesson to all readers.
In the book there are four main characters, Jes, Sam, Angela, and Dell. Jes's parents are divorced and their daughter and little sister died. After that, Jes's life was completely under her control until her mom decided to get remarried. That may have been ok if the groom didn't have a daughter, Angela. A month before the wedding Angela comes and destroys Jes's room. She takes over Jes's room turning it from a pig sty to a sparkly clean room. Just when Jes thought things couldn't get worse her best friend turns on her. First Dell, her best friend, runs away in a love life with her boyfriend, and then she became friends with Angela leaving Jes alone. Angela works her way into Sam's heart, (Sam is Jes's other best friend) making Jes feel totally deserted. Jes's feelings become mixed. Does she want Angela whisking Sam away with her beauty? Does she wasn't him for herself? Will her life ever be the same? Jes doesn't know until one sunny after noon in a corn field maze. What does she find out? Well, its up to you to find out by reading this book, Losing Forever, by Gail Friesen! |
