5.0 out of 5 stars Reveals the Truth 95% of the Time, February 23, 2011
This review is from: Losing Ground : American Social Policy, 1950-1980 (Paperback)
This is a must read for those wanting the facts about the failed "great social policies" leading to bigger and bigger government, and increasing dependency on government handout programs without actually improving the well being of the recipients. These programs just didn't work, and Charles Murray has the facts to back that up. It is well written, well documented, and hard hitting. For many, it will open your eyes wide open. Others will simply choose a state of denial, but the facts are there.

2.0 out of 5 stars The bias shows, September 11, 2009
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Losing Ground : American Social Policy, 1950-1980 (Paperback)
While I found the book interesting and agree with some points, his conservative bias shows through heavily as he makes assumptions and glosses over areas that conflict with his opinions. Two books that should definitely be read along with this book are "The Other America" and "What Liberal Media." The latter book points out many of the flaws and misinterpretations/misrepresentations in his work.
